Why they continue to carry on their personal dramas outside (usually at top volume on their cell phones) is beyond my capacity to understand.
Once, when we had neighbors (we live in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of town, now) my neighbor was sitting on her front porch with the music blarring from her house. It was so loud, we could hear it over our tv in our frontroom.
After an hour of my better-half complaining and saying she was going to call the police, I said, "Let me handle it."
I calmly walked across the street and up her sidewalk. She said, loudly, "Hi, Jim!"
I said, "Lori, do you know what kind of music Kathy and I listen to?"
She was puzzled, but admitted, "No, I don't."
I deadpanned, "Well, Kathy and I sure know what type of music you listen to" and turned and walked away.
Before I got back to the our front porch, her music was down and we never had that problem again.
