Not to sound sarcastic, but it is interesting how, if the person being reported on is a relative or friend, it is suddenly not news worthy and the paper is acting more as a gossip rag...

Admittedly, I do not know the person involved (story was published on Wed this week, I think), but if someone is shooting deer inside the city limits, while working at the Port (Public agency?) and then lies to investigators a few times, this is a news story.

Maybe he is not guilty, that will be a news story in the future.

I should probably know more people, my opinions might be different?

My reaction when reading the DW report was "this guy is a real dumb ass".

During my more than thirty years in GHC, I learned that there are a great number of male residents there who judge themselves and everyone else based upon their compensator pickups and what they killed last hunting season.

Lots of hunters I've encountered (not all) spend six months of each year talking about what they killed last season and the other six months of what they plan to kill next season.

I assume your the "Debra" who quoted on the comments web site... you hit the nail right on the head... every criminal has family and friends who think he's great

If the letter-writer think's the reporting is false why didnt she set the record straight and tell us the side of the story that she claim's the article missed.

The reporting is fine, it says charges were filed and the court record's stated he admitted to the crime. All of that is really happened. If he did not really admit to the crime then the court record is wrong not the paper.

What the guy did wasn't hunting. All he did was kill an urban deer, one with little fear of humans. He took a cheap shot and left the animal wounded.
He lied about it because he knew it was wrong.
I agree with Fuzzy about the letter - why take the time to write, but not explain? Could it be the writer knows it was wrong too?
Kudos go to those that reported the crime.

Little men in big trucks. I laugh when I see a little man climb out of his compensator truck. There are some pure hunters, and then are people that are full of shit that spend most of their time compensating (for one shortcoming or another). If I had the free time I would love to be able to live off food I had either grown or taken in the wild. However, hunting for cowards is a way to shoot and kill something that doesn't shoot back.
