Inspired by Hemingway

Six Word Stories can be intesting. On a challenge from friends, Hemingway wrote:

For Sale: Baby shoes. Never Worn.

It sends shivers whenever I read it. Got any of your own?

She lived lustily and died sublimely.

Quite good. I have come to admire Hemingway's as the iconic example as we can envision a 50 to 75 page short story about the loving couples excited dream of a child and the tragic aftermath of the loss of the same child.

My attempts could be expanded to a paragraph-long joke or a two page expository essay.

The life and death of this woman could be a good novel... or maybe already has been.

Since you're a Hemingway fan might I suggest a trip to Havana and a visit to his estate where is boat, El Pilar, and his home are conserved. Of course, there're also the music, rum, dancing, tobacco, and all sorts of other interesting attractions in Cuba.

I can't do six words but the shortest poem I ever read was:

Once Stash in the countryside
Touched poison ivy
and it died.

Awkward homecoming. Recurring nightmares. Permanent limp.
