I stopped watching shortly after Elton John joined Lady Gaga onstage. I see Sir Elton is continuing his slow but definite transformation into Liza Minnelli.

I think I'm more clueless than Turnow. Who or what is Lady Gaga?

It is such a beautiful, perfectly constructed song, I'm not sure how it could be messed up. This is still one of my favorite versions:

I watched from beginning to end of what I thought was a pretty well done award show. Exceptions: I thought Steven Cobert was off his game early on. And, I wasn't as thrilled with the rap performance at the end of the night. Most of my concern over the rap, though, is personal taste.

My favorite performance was Green Day. I would love to see the "American Idiot" play in New York. And Pink was good too. She must work out.

I thought Pink was fantastic. I'd have been a little irritated had I been within shot of all the dripping water, though.

I've come to like a small amount of Taylor Swift... not much mind you, but a small amount. She was godawful with Stevie Nicks. Anyone can hit a bad note once in a while. But, a pro figures it out and either gets to the right note or compensates if it's too high or low. While Miss Swift is having a career year (2009/10), she was way out of her league with Stevie. And Stevie was a great pro, willing stepping back and singing backup on one song for Taylor and never once putting her finger in her throat while Taylor was botching it.

I totally agree with you... Taylor Swift was awful. And Stevie could do nothing about it. I think she was holding back so she wouldn't get blamed. That performance was the low of the night for me.

That was ridiculous.

Heh, so LJ, do you mean I should be glad the video has been removed? Gaga just sounds like "gag me" to me. Does she look/sing gaggy?
