Is there anyone in the USA who isn't rooting for NO, other than the Indianapolis and their fans?

So far, with 5:42 to go, its been a really good game. The teams are playing evenly in terms of yards, there have been few penalties, and no fumbles or interceptions.

You Grinch.

That interception for a touchdown just about settles things. I will be happy for NO if the Saints win.

I thought it was brilliant of Sean Payton to call time out just before the Colts snapped with just a couple minutes to go, Peyton Manning's frustration at the gambit was manifest. And Ithought it was great to see Payton's players hoist him onto their shoulders at the end. The short kickoff to begin the second half was also brilliant, but only because it worked.

It's too bad the head coach can't be designated as the most valuable player.

I suspect there are a number of the Manning family happy with the outcome. And to Peyton Manning's credit he acknowledged before the game what a NO victory would mean to the city.

All the gringos on our block were rooting for NO. Good game and a great outcome. The Colts played a good game but came up short this time.

Second great Superbowl in a row. I wouldn't have been too upset if the Colts had won, but I'm thrilled the Saints did. Fantastic game.

The headline at Yahoo Sports is "Lombardi Gras", with Mardi Gras just around the corner. Clever.

It was really the third great SB in a row. What about NY v NE in 2008?

The Super Bowl is to football what Vegas Elvis was to rock and roll.

Overweight, indulgent and excessive. I agree.

But, in spite of all that, still the same great product. Elvis still had the pipes and outside the glitz, the Superbowl still had great football.

Maybe next year they can bring Elvis out of retirement to do the half time show. Its been a while since there was a good one.

I thought The Who was OK, especially considering the venue and event they were supporting. I thought Springsteen was good, too. The thing is, bands like that need to be experienced in full. They are not sound clip bands, their shows build as an experience and reach a frenzy at the end. It's not just a dance track- the songs matter. More importantly, the songs in their entirety matter. It's not a dynamic that can be shortcut, simulated or condensed.

That's not the kind of energy that can just be turned on like a switch because it's a joint effort of the band and the audience- an audience that actually came to see the band. The Super Bowl can't deliver that so every performance seems like a great band that has lost a step and it just trying too hard. Not true, it's just a bad gig.

The best one recently, IMO, was Tom Petty.

Still, I think the whole thing is so over the top it's hard to take seriously. I don't invest myself in it at all because nothing can live up to that kind of hype. I say bring back the dog and Frisbee. smile

That is a good photo.

I thought one of the best video moments was when Manning, after going three and out, with nine and a half minutes of so remaining throwing a towel onto the ground in front of the bench where he was sitting. I intend no disrespect of Manning, but it was like he was throwing in the towel.
