If I was in the market, that is.
Xperia x1i My three year old Sony P1i is still working fine, so I'm not in the market, and the only difference between the x1i and the P1i is a half inch larger screen, the slide accessible keyboard, and GPS which I have no use for.
None-the-less, when one compares the features of the $390 unlocked x1i to the more expensive Apple iphone, there is really no comparison. The only drawback I have seen is the Windows Mobile OS.
Here in Mexico one buys an unlocked GSM phone and can then just slip in the SIM card from one's older phone. Service is prepaid and one may purchase time at the grocery store or at a zillion mom-and-pop stores. The unlocked phone is more expensive up front but there is no service contract and one receives no bills.
Again, I just don't get why the iphone has created such a stir.
