There is a reason that polygraph test results are generally not admissible in court -- they are not reliable. I would never take a polygraph under any circumstances. It's a waste of time.

Wally B was talking about the court of public opinion.

Why do you jump to the immediate conclusion that it's a cheap shot?

You were in the behavioral health/social services field. And you usually support the underdog. Most people with a behavioral health background know the reasons why sexual assaults are one of THE most underreported crimes. I was surprised that you weren't the first to bring that fact into the thread given your background, that's all. No cheap shot. Good grief, defensive much?

I had not commented in this thread and didn't intend to as the topic matter doesn't interest me all that much. So, yeah, I felt called out and then called it as I see it.

Being called defensive by you is really quite amusing.

Well, we can agree on that much. Clearly, there isn't enough evidence to convict him in a court of law. The court of public opinion is irrelevant, as he won't be running for anything again and most people already have an opinion of him, good or bad. What brought this issue back up is his separation. That makes it a celebrity story, as opposed to a political story. Yawn.

As far as him not taking a polygraph, I'm still waiting for Glenn Beck to take a polygraph to prove that he didn't rape and murder a girl in 1990...

I see.
An admission of parody and satire and stated assumption that he didn't commit the crimes from the accusers isn't enough for you.

More so your deflection default.

Better yet, the accuser could take a polygraph.

She did? And it said she was lying? And she has a history of making up accusations?

Well that's entirely different.

Nevermind.

Well, there you go.
Case closed.
Now I can keep that nasty Gore sex-poodle visual from harrassing my mind every time I see his name or picture.

Oh wait though...

I don't know...can you have it both ways,
unreliable for the accused and reliable for the accuser?

Ever heard the phrase "burden of proof"? On whom does it fall?

1. It depends whether you're talking civil or criminal court, and then on specifics of case/plea.

2. Since when has there ever been a "burden of proof" required in the court of public opinion?

The court of public opinion is irrelevant. He won't be running for anything again, and how much weight people put into his climate change campaign will not be influenced by this. Either you buy into or you don't. Whether you think he assaulted a masseuse won't change that.

I'll also play ignorant on this. What the heck is a sex poodle? Am I just not old enough for that one?
