Conservatives value the predictable. He'd only tune in if they spend EVERY hour criticizing Dicks and Murray.

Straying from the script hurts their brains and makes the baby Jesus cry.

Nope. But, you did make a big deal about whether or not he would criticize Dicks and Murray, both Democrats. He does, regularly.

He intends to feature progressive politics and discussions.

Which is often different than any policy of Dicks or Murray.

Glad you enjoyed the show and after-show.

Thanks. I did, very much.

It was a good show for a good cause. Unless, of course, you think that having more local options for talk and entertainment is a bad thing.

lol...there's no big deal. I KNOW he criticizes them.
Honestly, I turn the tuner when he's on the radio, but occasionally I read his blog and his print in the DW.

My point, tongue-in-cheek, was if he announced a program devoted to calling out Dicks, Murray, Obama...I would listen to that program. I may pick up another couple reasons why I will vote against them. Otherwise, I'm not interested in wading through his or others progressive spiel to get to something I would be interested in.

I think "left-wing, progressive, atheistic" radio programming is as much of a good thing for this county/country as many/most on this board feel "right-wing, conservative, Christian" radio programming is a good thing for this county/country. smile

Odd. While I don't agree with most of the right-wing babble on local radio, I totally support its existence. We're all poorer when we limit available information, even information we don't agree with. However, I do think it's best when there is a balance of information from different perspectives. That's mostly missing in this area.

I couldn't agree with you more. Right-wing radio is not something I can listen to for very long, but it has its place. I do look forward to KGHI and what it has to offer, I think it will be great.

To be honest, we are kind of spoiled here as far as our media to population base. For radio, we have two competing news/talk stations, classic rock, two country stations, two versions of adult contemporary, Christian radio, oldies, alternative, sports, and an NPR station that plays jazz. We also have a regular newspaper that covers the county and weekly newspapers that cover all the outlying areas. Television isn't as developed, but there is Elma's station, a local Christian channel, and Aberdeen High School has the potential to develop their own station. And none of that counts what we can pull in from Puget Sound and other areas. This station will cover those areas that aren't getting covered now.

By the way, I hope you won't mind when I quote you again in the future.

Heh. I suspect you'll get frequent opportunity.

Quote away.

I support the right of progressives to air their view, and I do occasionally listen to them (more often read their print) to see where they are coming from on certain issues.

I just won't support them directly with any personal funds I have in my control.
