No, I don't eat canned lettuce.
Yes, it's very difficult to always find and utilize H-2A farms and orchards.
There aren't many of them.
This growing season, Gebbers on the other side of the state is one.
I said I make an effort, and I do.

This may be the reason.

"Gebbers Farms, a 5,000-acre apple and cherry operation north of Wenatchee in Brewster, Washington, had its employment records audited by ICE late in 2009. Gebbers fired 550 workers, and gave the fired workers until April 1, 2010 to vacate company housing. In 2010, Gebbers was approved to hire 1,200 H-2A workers for six months."

Yup.
I am aware of that.
That's why I specified "this growing season".
There are big issues in the H-2A program.
You'd think if our government, who insists immigration is their purview alone, was serious about establishing a viable and fair agricultural guest worker program (and I'm talking all parties involved) they could create one. If.

So you do eat produce picked by illegal workers.

Guess you should shut up then, hypocrite.

I try to be an informed consumer and make an effort not to purchase products picked by illegal aliens, although realistically I'm sure it probably occurs, especially considering the number of illegal aliens in our country and how many businesses are willing to break the law to utilize them.

Let's also remember than the businesses who are willing to break the law to utilize illegal aliens are often the businesses who treat them unfairly and even abusively, sometimes putting their health and lives in danger. I am not interested in supporting that with my food dollars, are you?

Do you make an attempt to be an informed consumer concerning the nutritional value (or lack thereof) of the food you consume? What kind of effort are you making to be a healthy weight for yourself and your country?

People don't need to habitually consume a diet loaded with high fat, high calories, and empty carbs. When they do, most will become overweight/obese and will impose added burden upon this country just as the B.O. Adminstration asserts.

People do need to consume a diet of fresh fruit and vegetables to maintain health and a healthy weight so they don't become a burden upon society.

I support a national legal, fair, viable, safe, and accountable agricultural guest worker program benefitting the temporary workers, the growers, the economy, and our citizens.

However, it appears that our politicians would much rather play politics than implement one. You may be willing to sacrifice my health while waiting for them to get their socioeconomic-agripolitical act together, but I am not.

Beavis, why don't you check out contemporary Buddhist teachings dealing with mindfulness and obesity, especially the book by Nhat Hanh. Wouldn't it be great if you could take all the toxic energy spent trying to slam those who don't share your idealogy, and turn it into something healthy, positive, and peace-filled for yourself?

Nobody's forcing you to eat produce at all, and since you don't have your own house in order in that regard, your ranting and raging on this issue is nothing more than hypocrisy.

Have you looked into changing your diet to eliminate vegetables altogether, thereby sparing the country of the billions of dollars you claim are being spent on illegal aliens?

Why do you hate our country?
It's patriotic to get/stay healthy by eating more vegetables.

This isn't a winning issue for you, Beavis.
Why do you keep pressing it?

I thought you were against illegal immigration! Are you secretly an agent of La Raza?

Good point. A lot of people aren't even aware of this.

Agreed and well stated.
