I was trying for sarcasm. Mrs. Stash and Lil' Stash didn't get the sarcasm. They thought I was serious and think it is a great idea!
This bus sign thing could be a boon for business
At first I was in agreement with the opinion Linda Orgel stated in her Sept. 17 letter to the editor regarding the whole transit destination issue. Logic holds that our public transportation system wouldn't be giving free advertisment to one business when it charges for advertising from others.
Then I gave it a little more thought.
As Walmart is getting this unsolicited, free, advertisement on GH Transit buses, it is only right this be carried to its logical conclusion.
We all know the economy is bad, so why not perk up all businesses?
Any bus now going to Cosmopolis should say "Maxi-Mini Mart" or "The Hong Kong."
If a bus is heading out to the SouthShore Mall, it should say "Sears" or "South Shore Cinema." A bus going to Hoquiam could say, "Los Arcos" or "8th Street Ale House." When they're heading to Hoquiam's eastside, they can change the sign to "Suzie's Cakes."
The former Westport bus could say "John's River Lodge" and then be changed to "The Westport Inn."
I think the "Artic Tavern" or "Clark's" would love to be the initial designation for the bus prior to heading to Pacific County.
Who wouldn't rather jump on the bus to "Marjuli's Gallery" or "Flying Cats" rather than just Ocean Shores.
I compliment the Transit Authority Board of Directors who are our mayors and county commissioners, for being so proactive to our economic situation. This could end up being a real boon.
