Aunt Shelly's Hot Buttered Rum
1 lb Brown Suger 1 qt. vanilla icecream (melted) 1 lb Powdered Suger 1 or 2 tbs cinnamon 1 lb soft butter 1 or 2 tbs nutmeg
Mix all ingrediants. Beat the hell out of it and store in freezer.
Add a table spoon or so to the mug and a jigger or so of cachaça or rum and boiling hot water.

Rum or cachaça, it will be good. Can't wait to hear your verdict.

Concoction This is a great drink to eat over the winter and at a proportion that could last 1+ month. A perfect drink after a night of house wassailing as it handily warms the inner core. I would recommend at least 1 hour pass after a medium meal and never directly after a large meal. This drink is very thick. Some additional added notes to Stash's ingredients included in link above. I will give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Very nice. You used Novo Fogo Gold cachaça... the good stuff. Pirassungna Silver is $20.98. All is good. My taste buds go for the gold! My wallet likes silver. My whole inner core loves Hot Buttered Rum... or Cachaça!
Thanks for the review.

I forgot to mention that people should experiment with the Cachaça content as well.
For some reason I believe Stash's jigger is bigger then mine.

I had the "just shoot me now" stomach yak a couple weeks ago, and my barf bowl looked better than that.

lol No problem. I mix my Tortuga Dark with Bailey's, hot coffee, and some real whipping cream. Looks as pleasing as it tastes.

I tend to make my hot-buttered rums by just melting a bit of butter and brown sugar together, melting in a bit of vanilla ice cream at the last few seconds, pouring it in a mug, then adding my rum. But Stash's recipe sounds way better and looks good to me. May make a smaller batch to try it out.
How many mugs do you get out of your recipe, Stash?

How many mugs do you get out of your recipe, Stash? Well, last night I finished the first half of the batch I made a little bit ago. I'd guess 20 mugs in that half so maybe 40 for the batch. But, some folk like more batter, some less. I know folk who just drink the batter and hot water. I've never count mugs per batch. I'd guess two good parties. I'm actually getting ready to start another batch. I'll give you a sample jar.

Thanks! I will definitely drink it slower than you but I'm sure I will enjoy every sip. I figure it's about 250 calories a mug and I'm already spending enough time at the Y.
