2) Is debatable. Politifact argues that Clinton did more. The fact that this is a bragging point is of more concern. Deregulation is the root cause of every mess we are in.

4) Is true. If you replace the FBI with a system of vouchers for people to buy mercenary protection on the open market, but call the new program FBI, you have ended the previous program.

6) Rand Paul has said that he'd repeal the civil rights act. Some obviously do.

8) Republicans ran for office on the idea that government can't do anything right. Their tool box consists of 3 square pegs labeled "corporate welfare", "tax cuts for the rich" and "give tax money to christian churches" each round hole problem presented to them will have one of these square pegs driven into it.
Their "job creating" efforts are no different. If I do faith healing on my car or hire an exorcist out of a belief that tools are instruments of the devil, and "are not the solution, but the problem", am I really "working on it"?
Government is a tool, and elected officials are the mechanics. A mechanic who believes the tool that has been entrusted to them is unsuitable for any purpose, will be as useless at their job as elected Republicans have proven to be.

That's the exact quote. Obama was defending his administration from accusations of raising taxes in aggregate. He hasn't.

This is the same old false-equivalency, "fair and balanced" (we're going to sit boy-girl, which means one Republican lie sits next to one potentially arguable Democratic claim) BS that brought us Fox News.

This will be a relief to Truman's descendants, since he wasn't in Hiroshima.

In fact, if I recall correctly, OBL wasn't in New York on 9-11 either.

Congress is running the highest DISapproval ratings, in the 80+ percentile, since polling began over three decades ago.

Those aren't just Republicans being polled.

More blame GOP for do-nothing congress.

LOL...the military came to B.O. and said they had located OBL in PAKistan and could take him out on B.O.'s order. B.O. said do it.

The SEALs got him.

Politifact ought to be ashamed.

Which doesn't change anything pertinent to the fact that judging by the Congressional DISapproval ratings, as well as B.O's underwater rating, and that of the direction of our country, the majority of people, regardless of party, believe that our government is not doing much right.

Of course not. For 30 years, the belief that government can't do anything right has been a litmus test issue for Republicans.

Only an idiot couldn't see this coming. The guy who shut down government in 1994 because he felt disrespected by the AF1 seating chart is now a front runner for the Republican nomination. Embrace the madness. Republicans are vandals. They destroy everything public on the mistaken impression that this increases the value of everything private.

The military is under civilian control. A seal who kills anyone without orders to do so is not a soldier.

Those orders came from the civilian leader: Obama.

Period.

But to say the B.O. was the one who "got" bin Laden is disingenuous and insulting to those who put their lives in jeopardy to locate and actually "get" him. I'd say that about any president, R or D.

The buck stops at his desk. Good or bad.

Tell it to the SEALs risking their lives on foreign soil, rather than sitting safe and secure schlumped in chair watching a screen in a secure stateside location.

When you win the presidency you win the title of Commander in Chief, head guy of the military over all branches. He is not really a civilian from that point on.

And they'd probably have the same reaction as the SEAL did when I asked him his reaction to the claim that B.O. "got" bin Laden.

So the next time somone says Bush got us into this quagmire called Iraq and Afganistan, you’re going to reply that as Bush wasn’t actually there to fight the insurgents and win the hearts and minds, it was the Military’s fault? Wow, so much for supporting our troops you commie.

Just a side note, history will record Obama as the President who got OBL. No matter how you squirm about how he didnt actually "get" him, he just set the goal and gave the orders.

Rummy was chairman of a biopharmaceutical firm when Clinton also set the goal. Here’s the scene from the 9/11 Commission’s Report , August 1998:

On August 11, General Zinni received orders to prepare detailed plans for strikes against the sites in Afghanistan.The Pentagon briefed President Clinton about these plans on August 12 and 14.Though the principals hoped that the missiles would hit Bin Ladin, NSC staff recommended the strike whether or not there was firm evidence that the commanders were at the facilities.

As we know the strike occurred but they believed they missed OBL by hours. But Obama gets the credit changing the priority back to getting OBL. And as Clemenza would say of OBL, “he sleeps with the fishes”
