"Ten Thousand Dollar Bet" Romney calling the President Marie Antoinette? Yeah, I'd bet a buck that doesn't sell well. Most people know Presidents take vacations AND take the entire weight and power of the nation with the whereever they are. And, while 90 rounds of golf (your number) is 90 more than I've played in the last 3 years, I know some average folk around here who play that many in a year. I'm glad he can find time to get some relaxation and excercise.

Golf is big in Iowa.
I don't think anyone in Iowa begrudges him vacation golf.

As an aside, I think vacations other than at Camp David should be at personal expense (including transportation costs), except for Secret Service coverage. If he/she pays for it, I don't care how many rounds of golf the presidents play while on vacation.

I don't know the percentages or the actual dollar figures, but the President does pay appropriate expenses for travel. But, appropriate means "travel for normal people". That means when he and the first lady went to a Broadway play, he paid what it would cost any DC resident to get to NY and back. That he went in Airforce One or the helecopter or a 15 car motorcade isn't the cost he incurred. I think they pay all the first mother-in-law's expenses as well.

Coming from multi-millionaire Romney, I think it sounds ridiculous. I think the only thing that will stick is how out of touch Romney is.
