Well today is "The CEO made your annual salary" day. By noon today, the average CEO made what you'll make all year.

It fell a day later this year because Jan 2nd was a holiday.

Okay, since the average US CEO makes 243 times the average worker, when will the CEO actually make that much?

The article you first cited used elite Canadian CEO salaries:

Quote:
The 100 highest paid chief executives whose companies are listed on the S&P/TSX composite index

not "average" as you stated.

Salary.com lists the US national average CEO salary at $708,552.
That's $340.65 per hour,
4 hours = $1362.60

The US National Average Wage Index for 2010 was $41,673.83.

$1362.60 is significantly less than $41,673.83.

That is why I stated your first post is "untrue".

What difference does it make?

Salary dot com? Seriously?

Take it up with the Economic Policy Institute.

And Forbes.

Quote:
During 2003, about half of Fortune 500 CEO compensation was in cash pay and bonuses, and the other half in vested restricted stock, and gains from exercised stock options according to Forbes magazine.[3] Forbes magazine counted the 500 CEOs compensation to $3.3 billion during 2003 (which makes $6.6 million a piece), a figure that includes gains from stock call options used (the options may have been rewarded many years before the option to buy is used).

6.6 million is $3200/hour. EPI uses the Forbes CEO pay for the calculation.

Okay, so make it 5 pm, that's an hour from now. In the time it took me to type this, the average fortune 500 CEO made about $300, and I type pretty fast.

Your original post stated:

Quote:
the average CEO

Now you're changing that to Fortune 500 CEOs.

Do you think "the average CEO" in Grays Harbor County makes $3200 an hour?

I didn't think so.

Even at $3200 an hour, by noon, they didn't make as much as I made last year.

Your original post stands as "untrue".
