I would hope the GOP Clown Car has already terrified you... if you stopped laughing at them long enough.

...if you stopped laughing at them long enough. Stash, I'm not laughing, this country is on verge of Germany, circa 1933. Republicans have contrived to disenfranchise millions of voters and the Supreme Court is still stacked.

You don't think we're searching for our Hitler? Nothing would comfort most U.S. citizens more right now than to be free of the burden of freedom. It's an onerous responsibility that we are relinquishing at this very moment. During these tumultuous times, we would embrace being kept. Here, you might need this...

this country is on verge of Germany, circa 1933. Not even close. I'm not as optimistic about this as you. Even a cursory observation of the Republican debates should show that some people are desperate for someone to tell them who to hate. http://www.simplypsychology.org/authoritarian-personality.html"If the court makes a fundamentally wrong decision, the president can in fact ignore it," said Gingrich to cheers.Republicans aren't stupid, they just want a dictator.

During these tumultuous times, we would embrace being kept. Don't include me in your crap. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness works for me. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

Geezer is wrong.
If any date and place is similar, Russia 1917 would be closer to correct.

Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness works for me. So are you going to vote for the guy who would ignore the courts and promises a moonbase, or the guy who promises to implement AND repeal universal health care AND who supports dungeons and torture (but don't call it that) and has said "corporations are people", but you, on the other hand don't have a right to privacy? Which one is more honest and dedicated to your freedom? Both of them want lower taxes for them and higher for me, more debt, more troops, more bombs, more nukes and more confrontation, so there's little to separate them in that regard. My only surprise is that the guy who promised to reinvade Iraq had to quit.

C'mon. Think for yourself. Is Thumper not thinking for himself because he's not thinking like you? He's not thinking for himself because you can't say that while thinking. Hint: what part of OWS suggests that liberals are looking for a dictator? It's projection. It's the only way you can simultaneously believe that Democrats are anarchists who have authoritiarian personality traits. No one can rationally look at the state of us politics (or listen to 5 minutes of a Repub debate) and say with a straight face that democrats are the party of authoritarianism. There is very little difference between the politics which elected Mussolini and that which is being used to elect Gingrich. The basic psychology is why liberals don't have "leaders" like Rush/Beck/Hannity etc. We don't follow like that.

light and transient causes; ? That our government is now controlled by corporations is not a light and transient matter. Corporate governance and democracy are diametrically opposed, which is increasingly evident as a result of corporate personhood. Their quest for profit has bought our politicians, our judges, our media to enshrine their greed. If you are disposed to suffer these evils, don't dare to convince us to suffer with you.

"communism would be great if it worked" Christian monastics have practiced communism (small c) since the 4th century. It's Communism that has been consigned to the dustbin of history.

How about the following instance, Cookie, or cookie? "A union worker, a Teabagger and a corporate CEO are sitting at a table. In the middle of the table there is a plate with a dozen cookies on it. "The CEO reaches across and takes 11 cookies, looks at the Tea Partier and says: 'Look out for that union guy, he wants a piece of your cookie."

So are you going to vote for the guy who would ignore the courts and promises a moonbase ::shrug:: People voted for a guy in office now who does ignore the courts and the Constitution, and is a moon bat.
