I went to the car wash on Simpson this p.m. I was the only car in line. The attendant was on the phone talking about some sort of vacation package. I sat there and watched him. I handed my money out the window and he CONTINUED to talk on the phone for probably least another 45 seconds or so.

Thanks, bud, but just because YOU get paid by the hour, doesn't mean I want to sit and listen to your obviously personal conversation.

Then downtown, I had a BIG orange pickup neglect to signal that he was turning and cut across three lanes of traffic to STOP in front of me to pull into the parking area behind the old Grand Heron. Mind you, this is early p.m. on Heron Street with lots of traffic. So, I slammed on my brakes, and yelled something nasty out the window to him. Yeah, me!!

Then I proceeded to Les Schwab, where I had a very nice man put air in my tires. BUT then he told me it looked like there was a problem with my front rotors, as in rubbing.

Oh, my!! And to think I had just slammed on my brakes a few blocks earlier and hadn't noticed anything.
Hmmm. . . . blush (Hubby, are you reading this??)

And the final straw was when I went to our 'friendly' neighborhood Safeway, unloaded my 13 items on the 15-or-less line, all the while with the clerk watching me. She says, if you are using a debit card, you can't check out here. I said, it says DEBIT right there on the sign. She proceeded to turn her monitor around to face me, which had a computer printed notice that said something about the register not taking ATM cards. I was mad, I slammed my items back in my cart and told her she could have said something before I off-loaded everything AND have a big enough sign facing the customer informing them of the problem.

So the clerk that actually checked me out was very nice, and I told her to tell her manager that I usually expect rude service from Top Food, not Safeway. (Appparently, according to two of the clerks, that particular cashier gets a lot of complaints. Good grief!!) eek

And all I really wanted today was some milk & bananas so I could have cereal.

As Funky so eloquently puts it,

BAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! mad

For your next car wash, go to the The Finish-Line on Curtis Street! Tell them Stash sent you... actually, better say, "Jim". Greg won't have a clue as to whom Stash would be.

Apparently, it has to be the traffic demons today...

Twice on Simpson, I had speed demons nearly clip the front end of my small car off in order to save a few seconds. One of them was in a SUV, which allowed me to use some of my NASCAR driving school "collision avoidance" training.

It is still nearly $4 per gallon of gas, right? Just checking...

Hey, I'd take your day today for most every day of this week, Jewels.

I spent this morning going to the hospital with my in-laws re an emergency. FIL has cellulitis and was admitted. After they got calmed down and settled, went to my mom's and did her weekly pill management and then took her up to the hospital for a planned echocardiogram. Then, tomorrow I take my MIL to Olympia for some kind of medical test up there. Then, on Friday, I go with my mom to visit her stockbroker as she is becoming increasingly confused and befuddled with that stuff and then we go to her doctor for the results of her test. After which I will go do her weekly mail, filing, bill-paying, etc. that I was supposed to do this morning but didn't do because I was at the hospital with FIL.

Now, mind you, all the while I'm hearing the same story that was told 10 minutes before as if it's a new one, answer the same question 50 times,

Here's the BAH...my kids smile at me and tell me not to expect them to return the favor because they're going to send me to "the home". Little maggots!

So, wanna trade, Jewels? What'd you say? BAAAAHHHHHHHHHH?????

I think the Les Schwab attendant saw the cat spray and mistook it for something else. I wonder how good that $7 car wash really is. Foul water. Inattentive workers. No flashing lights. Bahhhhh

Well, crap, Funky, I am sorry for what you are going thru. Hubby and I also having aging parents with issues, non of which will get any better with time, I am sure. I know your day (week, month, year) is harder than mine, but I do appreciate having the Flame Pit, even though my troubles my appear to be trivial.

As far as your offspring go, sounds like a great arguement for birth control.

wink

How does it work? Is it automated? How much is it? Can I stay in my car?

Just curious . . .

Hand washed. Stay in your car or come in and have a cup of coffe and tv. Whatever.

Real Waiting Room. No kidding. Well, of course, you really have to wait, too! wink

They're still in. Nothing to inherit anyway. And they're not so bad. I did say that they say it with a smile.

It's very odd becoming mom to my mom. It's actually getting easier now because she's no longer stubbornly fighting it. We just wish there were more family locally to share all the little old people with. And it doesn't seem like much of a break from doing this with the kiddies and then doing it with the oldies, ya know?

I usually get surly checkers at Safeway, and nothing but smiles at Top Foods. Go figure.

Of course, I'm thoroughly PISSED that the StarBucks in Top Foods closed. Well, maybe it is good that I cut down on the coffee consumption... plus, I'm saving money for the cruise.

I worry that car washes will scratch my paint... especially hand washes... we usually do it ourselves. There are scratches on the other car from a charity car wash...

I was headed out to do some surfing in Westport and saw a good one while coming out of the Top Foods/McDonalds parking lot - last week.

Scenerio (I am driving behind this lady)
-----------
- i see what I think is a lady that toss's a wrapper out the window.
- next I see a McDonalds cup fly out the window in the Techline store area.
- We cross the Wishkah river and get stopped at the light.
- I can see the side of her face in the side mirror (she is in a mini van) and I tell my fiance -- it looks like she is eating a salad. (was not sure but)
- no sooner said that and out comes a plastic bowl and 1/2 a salad, smacks up against the curb and fly's all over... We both could not believe it!!!

- I passed on her license to the powers that be...

It still seems like a cartoon! oh and the mini (ya not so nice)

Holy $hit... That'll send me into a mild road rage. God, I hate when people do that. Your car can be a little dirty until you get home - or get to a garbage can. Geez...

A few years back, when coming back from Ocean Shores, I was behind a couple guys in one of those nice new Thunderbird convertibles who kept tossing their burger wrap, fry container, pop cups out of the car. The top was down and they were obviously having fun doing it. They would hold the item up high and let go and let it fly out. I was incensed!!

When we got to town, I kept following them even though I was headed home. They pulled over to gas up at the 7-11 on Simpson. I pulled in and then whipped around and parked in front of them, facing them.

I always seem to have a bit of garbage in the car of some kind or other. I had a bag from a burger place filled with other garbage in the car. I grabbed it, walked over to 'em and said something like "Here! You dropped something" and tossed it in on the backseat of their car. They yelled at heck like me. I yelled back something like "then toss your litter in the garbage where it belongs, you litterers!!!!"

I was pissed. I don't normally do those types of things, heck I NEVER do something like this, but the way they did it...ya know, the holding it up high in the air and letting go...made me even madder than a normal litterer would.

I think I shook for about 2 hours after that. I shocked myself. But it was also strangely gratifying.

Okay, then I'll back the train up...

I was Not Happy when they opened the new Starbucks, as the one at Top Foods was perfectly fine. Now, they've closed the one at Top Foods, and it is no longer convenient for me to stop in, grab a latte, check my lotto tickets, and/or grab some fruit or a small necessary item on my way to work.

They should have left well enough alone.
