Well, I was dinking around the interweb, looking at J.P. Patches site to see if he had any appearances nearby this year, and it looks like he is planning on returning to the Grays Harbor County Fair this year! He is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on August 9th (that's Sunday). How exciting! Yet another opportunity to show the young generation how their parents and grandparents ended up like this.

The best time with JP and Gertrude was last year at the 7th Street Theatre where he appears without makeup and telling stories behind the scenes...like when he opened the door to talk to a visitor and there stood (off camera) a naked lady.

We never miss a chance to see JP.

If that did happen to JP Patches, whoever did it was ripping off the old Soupy Sales show--or maybe JP's memory is shot and he just thinks it happened to him.

Well, JP is about 118 years old now. But, from what I've seen, I'd bet on JP's memory. Maybe his staff got the idea from Soupy's staff... or vice versa?

Or maybe Funky's memory is going and she remembers Soupy telling the story!

Speaking of 118 years old...today's cake marks what, about half that many? Happy birthday!

Well, unless Soupy Sales was at the 7th Street Theatre, I heard it from JP. I don't remember the name of the doll. Esmerelda, maybe? One time he was supposed to do something with her and he went to open the dollhouse and get her and she was covered with condoms so he had to punt the rest of the planned skit.

There were a few other stories but my memory is too shot to remember them, too.

I was there. I can't remember yesterday, let alone every story JP told that night.

Was it the naked lady story or the Esmerelda (yep, that was the doll's name) covered in condoms story or both?
