Street Closures, Detours Accompany US 101 Restriping in Aberdeen

Drivers can expect two upcoming nights of lane and street closures along US 101 in Aberdeen.

At the request of the City of Aberdeen and a citizen group called the Aberdeen Revitalization Movement, crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will restripe a seven-block segment of US 101 through downtown Aberdeen, converting the roadway from three lanes to two lanes.

Crews will conduct the work over two nights. The work is weather dependent and could be postponed in the event of rain.

7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, to 6:00 a.m. Monday, September 14

  • Crews will close westbound US 101 (West Wishkah Street) to all traffic from South F Street to South Alder Street. In addition, crews will close all side street and alleyway entrances to West Wishkah Street along that same distance. Drivers will detour via West Market Street.

7:00 p.m. Monday, September 14 to 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 15

  • Crews will close eastbound US 101 (West Herron Street) to all traffic at South Alder Street. Crews will close all side street access to West Herron Street, including alleyways, between South Park Street and South I Street. Drivers will detour via West State Street, across the Chehalis River Bridge, and back to US 12. Drivers are encouraged to add additional time to reach their destinations.
