The nonprofit organization The Chehalis River Basin Land Trust was recently awarded a $1,000 grant from the Sierra Pacific Foundation. This generous grant will be used towards the purchase of a small boat. “Now we will be able to move forward and find just the right boat so that our land trust volunteers can better access riverine conservation lands during annual site reviews,” said Jan Robinson, president of the Chehalis River Basin Land Trust.
The mission of the land trust is to ”conserve, protect and restore ecologically significant lands in the Chehalis Basin.”
The Sierra Pacific Foundation is a third generation, family owned and operated forest products company. Local mills that they operate include mills in Centralia and Aberdeen.
