Meghan Howell has been selected as Aberdeen Rotary Club’s May Student of the Month. Meghan is the daughter of Natasha Calica and Craig Howell. She is ranked fifteenth in her class with a GPA of 3.922 and will be graduating as a Top Scholar.

Meghan has been a varsity cheerleader, varsity bowler and captain, a member of National Honor Society, and a member of the Renaissance Action Team. Meghan has actively participated in Foodball and helped run blood drives at AHS. She helped fundraising for the Seattle Children’s Hospital, specifically for children from around Grays Harbor.
When asked how she shows leadership Megan responds, “I show leadership with positivity. Anyone would tell you that I am one of the most smiley people at AHS and being a positive person in my eyes is an important concept for leaders to have.
Meghan plans to attend WSU in the fall and to major in Biology. Her goal is to complete a bachelor’s degree and then attend medical school to become a doctor. She was in the PMC (Professional Medical Careers) class this year and worked with residents at Pacific Care and GHCH.
Each year, the Aberdeen Rotary Club honors Aberdeen High School Seniors through the Student of the Month recognition and scholarship program. One senior is recognized each month between October and May. In June, two of these eight students are then selected for either the $1000 “Blue” or $2000 “Gold” scholarship to the school of their choice.
