US 101 Traffic: Asphalt Repairs Bring Overnight Lane Closures to Us 101 This Week

Submitted by Washington State Department of Transportation

If the weather cooperates, Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will perform nighttime asphalt repairs on US 101/Simpson Avenue in Hoquiam and US 101/E Heron Street in Aberdeen this week to extend the life of the highway.

The work will occur in the overnight hours when traffic volumes are lower. A single southbound lane at both locations will be closed to travelers while this important preservation work is underway. No lane closures are scheduled at this time for northbound US 101.

US 101/Simpson Avenue overnight repairs:

  • On Wednesday, July 31, travelers will encounter a single, southbound lane closure between 6th Street and 28th street starting at 9 p.m. for pavement repairs. A signed detour will be in place. All lanes will reopen by 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

US 101/E Heron Street overnight repairs:

  • On Thursday, Aug. 1, travelers will encounter a single, southbound lane closure between S Jefferson Street and F Street starting at 9 p.m. A signed detour will be in place. Northbound US 101 travelers crossing the Chehalis River Bridge will follow S G Street, E Wishkah St, S H Street and back to E Heron Street to continue onto southbound US 101. All lanes will reopen by 5:30 a.m. Friday.
