Straddleline Park

Formerly the Grays Harbor ORV Park, Straddleline Park is open once again for camping in McCleary. The 400-acre park sits right near Capital Forest, making it the perfect gateway for those looking to motorbike, e-bike, mountain bike or hike its famous trails. The nearby Crestline Trail, for example, is 7.9-miles long and open to mountain biking, hiking and equines.
Straddline Park has 155 campsites, including 20 with power and water for RV camping near the Washington Coast. The nice thing about these campsites near the Washington Coast is that you have a choice when it comes to scenery: some in the trees, some in open fields.
Camping amenities at Straddleline Park include a dog park, dump station for your RV and bathrooms. Kids will like the playground and everyone will appreciate the free hot showers available. Covered picnic areas with seating are nice for getting out of the sun or the rain.

A great place that’s convenient to get to for camping on the way to the Washington Coast is the Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds! The first-come, first-served camping spots have dry camping and RV hooks up. They accommodate tent campers as well as those with RVs. They recommend calling to check availability before heading over. Camping in available year-round.

Friends Landing

If you are looking for a central location to camp in Grays Harbor, Friends Landing is a good choice with easy access to Highway 12. The Washington Coast is under an hour away, so you can explore beaches to the north and south with ease.
Hiking near the Washington Coast is also easy at Friends Landing! They have a 1.7-mile hiking trail around Lake Quigg and of course, there are many trails at nearby state parks.
Friends Landing features 18 RV sites and 10 tent sites for Grays Harbor camping. The RV sites all have water and electrical hookups. The tent sites have water available. Other amenities include a playground, free wi-fi, bathrooms with showers and a dump station. Bring your dog and your boat! Friends Landing has a boat launch and fishing is available at Lake Quigg and the Chehalis River. A firewood vending machine makes sure you have what you need for those s’mores at the end of the day. Lake Sylvia State Park

Another place to camp on the way to the Washington Coast is Lake Sylvia State Park. This 233-acre park is nestled in the rainforest, with the lake as its focal point. Hiking and biking are also easy to do at this campsite, which is in the perfect location to visit Washington Beaches as well.
If you like watersports, camping at Lake Syliva State Park near the Washington Coast allows for opportunities to kayak, paddleboard, boat or even swim in the calm lake. Amenities at the campground include restrooms, fire pit, drinking water, firewood, dump station, playgrounds, picnic shelters and more. Dogs are allowed at this campground too. Rain Forest Resort Village

The Rain Forest Resort Village has RV campsites near the Washington Coast in the Quinault Rain Forest. It’s a truly magical place to camp with lakeside sites. Their 31 RV sites have water and electrical hookups. And, unlike a lot of places, their campground is open year-round! So, whether you’re a Grays Harbor beach storm chaser, or just need to get away from the city for a weekend in the winter, this is your RV spot!
While there, be sure to check out the World’s Largest Spruce Tree and, of course, spend some time hiking the Quinault Rain Forest. Lake access means swimming, kayaking and boating are also available at this RV campground. And, since you can drive to Ocean Shores and the ocean in under an hour, it makes it a great place to camp on your way to the Washington Coast.
