On December 10, 2025, Westport Winery Garden Resort was purchased from the Roberts’ family. The sale included the winery, vineyards, Ocean’s Daughter Distillery and the Sea Glass Grill. The new owners are President/CEO David (Dave) Mulvaney, COO Ankur Mattoo, Chief Legal Counsel Joe Prencipe, and CFO David Glenn. Kim and Blain Roberts are excited for their new chapter.

“We founded Westport Winery in 2008, so we have owned it for nearly two decades,” shares Kim. “Blain and I are getting up in age, and simply want to retire. Our daughter, and business partner, Carrie, has been in our service all these years. It’s her turn to lead the way.”

Kim, Blain, and their daughter, Carrie – who started Ocean’s Daughter Distillery – will act as consultants to the new owners to ensure a smooth transition. After that, Kim says they are looking forward to traveling and spending quality family time that does not include running a business.

“We are deeply grateful to our community and guests for the many years of success,” Kim says. “We encourage them to continue doing business with Westport Winery, Ocean’s Daughter Distillery, the Sea Glass Grill and the International Mermaid Museum, as the legacy is worth preserving.”

New Owners at Westport Winery

The new owners are no strangers to running a business. Dave – originally from Florida – is a career business owner, having bought and built many successful businesses over the last three decades. He met Ankur – who lives in Bellevue –  in 2001, through a commercial real estate investment group. The two have been working together since then.

“When we saw the Westport Winery was for sale over two years ago, we developed a plan to acquire this great business so we can carry on the legacy the Robert’s family has built over the past 20 years,” shares Dave.

When asked about why they wanted to buy it, Dave says there were many reasons. “What’s not to love at the Westport Winery?” he shares. “But what really moves the needle for me is the people. This isn’t just a great company with award-winning wines, food, and spirits; the employees are great people and know how to make you feel welcome.”

In addition to the people working there, Dave says the community is incredible too. “What excites us most about the Westport Winery is its loyal customer base,” he shares. “Many of our wine club members have been with us for 15 years or more. We will strive to continue to make the finest wines in Western Washington.”

Dave notes that there will not be any immediate, significant changes that visitors will notice.

If you haven’t been to the resort, it’s worth visiting for those who love good food, good drinks, and a stunning landscape. Kim shares that the Westport’s wines have earned over 700 medals in international competitions. The Winery was named the 2022 Washington Winery of the Year, the 2023 Washington Association of Business Family Business of the Year and in 2016, they were one of the Top Twenty Most Admired Wineries in North America. The Sea Glass Grill was voted one of the top two winery restaurants in the nation in 2017.

Westport Winery Resort will remain open, with no interruption to service.

The International Mermaid Museum

Located in the same parking lot is the International Mermaid Museum, another brainchild of Kim’s. She explains that the nonprofit will continue to operate as it always has, with the new owners of Westport Winery joining the board. Kim will be organizing this year’s Mermaid Festival, happening every weekend in March, one final time.
