North Beach PAWS has announced its low-cost vaccine clinics for 2026, just another way they help pet owners needing support in Grays Harbor. The nonprofit provides shelter and foster care to homeless and unwanted pets in the area, as well as educating the community on proper pet ownership, promoting spay/neuter and seeking justice for abused animals. This year’s low-cost vaccine clinics will be held on May 23, June 6 and July 19.

The no-kill shelter has been holding low-cost vaccine clinics since 2023. “We are excited to continue bringing these important services to the community in 2026,” shares Jenefar de Leon Cossey, public relations and digital manager for North Beach PAWS. “We know many pet owners are facing financial challenges right now, and affordable access to vaccines and microchipping helps keep pets healthy, safe, and in their homes.”

Resources for Grays Harbor Pet Owners

North Beach Paws is an all-volunteer, no-kill shelter.  “Like many shelters across the country, owner surrender requests remain high,” shares Jenefar. “While we work hard to help families keep their pets whenever possible, economic hardship continues to impact many pet owners in our area.”

Jenefar says that rising costs of everyday items for pets, including food, makes pet ownership a challenge in Grays Harbor. “Veterinary expenses, pet food, housing instability, and limited access to affordable services can make it difficult for families to keep up with their pets’ needs,” she adds. “We also continue to see an ongoing need for spay/neuter services and preventative care.”

Because of this, the shelter works hard to help keep pets in their homes. This includes helping with pet food support whenever they have supplies. If you can donate food, you can help a pet stay in their home or support the animals waiting for homes at the shelter and in foster care.

“We want to help ensure bowls stay full and understand that the rising cost of pet food can be difficult for many families,” Jenefar says. “Our goal is to help pets remain healthy, cared for, and with the people who love them during challenging times.”

They also have a spay/neuter voucher program that assists low-income residents with these services for cats and dogs. Proof of income is required, along with a deposit ($40 per cat, $75 per dog for neuter and $150 per dog spay). “We try to support as many families and pets as possible through this program, but demand continues to be very high throughout our community,” Jenefar adds.

Without their generosity and support, we would not be able to offer these important services to the community.”

Support North Beach PAWS

You can support North Beach PAWS whether you have a pet or not! One great way is to adopt an animal. If a permanent home is not something you can provide, they also need fosters and volunteers.

Monetary and in-kind donations are always greatly appreciated. As a 501(c)(3), donations are tax-deductible. “We are especially in need of dry and wet dog and cat food, kitten supplies, monetary donations, and foster homes during the busy spring and summer months,” shares Jenefar. “Community support directly helps us continue lifesaving programs like our vaccine clinics and pet assistance efforts.”
