Join the Tokeland Fourth of July Parade at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, then picnic on the grounds of the Historic Tokeland Hotel. It’s free to enter the parade (your imagination is the only thing required) and the picnic lunch and games for all ages on the grounds are free, also. Prizes will be awarded for best parade entry and winners of all of the different games.

Grays Harbor County Emergency Management is pleased to announce a military exercise and public showcase demonstration at the Westport Marina, testing how the Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and WA National Guard could deliver supplies and capabilities in the event of a catastrophic Cascadia Earthquake and Tsunami Event. The USS Rushmore will patrol off our Western Coast and launch a landing craft, holding various military vehicles. The landing craft will arrive at the boat launch next to the Coast Guard Station at 1600 N. Nyhus St. and offload military vehicles for public display. The US Coast Guard Station, Westport will be holding an open house during the day also. Numerous helicopters will be landing and flying around the area to rendezvous with the USS Rushmore offshore. There will be a static display of the helicopters during the event also. Thank you to the City of Westport, the US Coast Guard Station at Westport and to the Port of Grays Harbor for their support in conducting this event for all citizens of Washington State.
BHP, a leading global resources company, will be holding a public open house to inform the community and interested parties about a potential potash export facility at the Port of Grays Harbor’s Terminal 3 in west Hoquiam.
Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity for questions and discussions at various stations with BHP representatives. For more information, go here.

Events include: Poles, 2-barrel flags, Figure 8, Cal Stack, Key Race, and Barrels. Age divisions are: Pee Wee/8 and under, Junior /3rd.-5th grade, Intermediate/6th- 8th grade, Senior/ 9th.-12th grade, S. Senior/ 19.-34yrs old and Old Timers/35 and over. Cost to participate is just $25 for the day plus $5 arena fee. We offer a $5 discount for 4H or Equestrian team members. Events also include sorting, 2-man ranch and 3-man arena. Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and Melissa Gardner, both born to wealth and position, are childhood friends whose lifelong correspondence begins with birthday party thank you notes and summer camp postcards. Romantically attached, they continue to exchange letters through the boarding school and college years, where Andy goes on to excel at Yale and law school, while Melissa flunks out of a series of “good schools.” While Andy if off at war, Melissa marries, but her attachment to Andy remains strong and she continues to keep in touch as he marries, becomes a successful attorney, gets involved in politics and eventually is elected to the U.S. Senate. Meanwhile, her marriage in tatters, Melissa dabbles in art and gigolos, drinks more than she should and becomes estranged from her children. Eventually she and Andy do become involved in a brief affair, but it is too late for both of them. However, Andy’s last letter, written to her mother after Melissa’s untimely death, makes it eloquently clear how much they really meant and gave to each other over the years; physically apart, perhaps, but spiritually as close as only true lovers can be.
Performance dates: Every Friday and Saturday evening with curtain time at 7:30. Each weekend features a different cast.

The Chehalis River Basin Land Trust is sponsoring a community forum to talk about climate change and how our community can respond.
The discussion will be introduced by Centralia College instructor Dr. Lisa Carlson. She offers this statement: Climate change is here. Predictions of warmer temperatures, more wildfire and more intense storms seem to be coming true. What does this mean for Washington State? How will my family and I be affected? What can we do to prepare for it and help reduce our climate impact?
The event will be on Wednesday, March 6th, at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Grand Mound. The event is from 6 to 8 PM; light refreshments will be served.

Join us for a special DIY workshop with our friends from The Sugar Canvas Boutique Bakery! In addition to creating a personalized wood sign from our gallery, you will be treated to a hands-on cookie decorating demonstration by The Sugar Canvas Boutique Bakery. We provide all the materials and instruct you step-by-step. The cost for a workshop is $35 for guests and pre-registration is required. This workshop includes an added fee of $32 for the extra instruction time and cookie decorating supplies, which will be collected during the registration process. This class is part of our 12 Days of Christmas in July. Any guest who attends a workshop in July will be automatically entered into a drawing for 6 months of Free Signs. Each month our winner will be given a code for a free PYP workshop for the months of August 2022 – January 2023
The FOSLS LAKE SYLVIA STATE PARK FALL FESTIVAL continues the tradition for our 12th year!
Come join us on SUNDAY, September 10th, 2023 from 8:30 – 4:00 for a day filled with fun and family activities.
If you enjoy running we have trail Races that begin at 8:30 am. From 10 – 4, you can find one of a kind art and hand crafted treasures at the Artisans Market and eat delicious food while enjoying great live music by talented local acts all on the peaceful shores of beautiful Lake Sylvia. There will also be a kayak paddling adventure, a Watershed Festival by the GH Stream Team, Galaxy Harbor Dancers and educational exhibits in the Legacy Pavilion. You can decorate a pumpkin or take a group photo in our photo booth and we will have kids activities as well.
Park for free at Simpson School (519 Simpson Ave W, Montesano WA), and take a free shuttle to the Festival. Parking inside the park is limited and requires a Discover Pass.
