Miami Connection at the 7th Street Theatre - A benefit for Harbor Rescue @ 7th Street Theatre | Hoquiam | Washington | United States

Come out to see cult classic and rarity Miami Connection (1987) at the historic 7th Street Theatre! All proceeds for this showing benefit the local animal rescue Harbor Rescue – “saving people, one dog at a time”!

We worked hard to get a super fun, cult-following film! Don’t miss out on a one-time event! We will also be featuring food and raffle items from local businesses such as Passport Cafe and Rediviva. This isn’t just a movie, it’s a fun community event and it’s all for a good cause – helping Harbor Rescue with abandonment and neglect cases and making life better for all citizens of Grays Harbor – four-legged and two-legged.

“The year is 1987. Motorcycle ninjas tighten their grip on Florida’s narcotics trade, viciously annihilating anyone who dares move in on their turf. Multi-national martial arts rock band Dragon Sound have had enough, and embark on a roundhouse wreck-wave of crime-crushing justice. When not chasing beach bunnies or performing their hit song “Against the Ninja,” Mark (taekwondo master/inspirational speaker Y.K. Kim) and the boys are kicking and chopping at the drug world’s smelliest underbelly. It’ll take every ounce of their blood and courage, but Dragon Sound can’t stop until they’ve completely destroyed the dealers, the drunk bikers, the kill-crazy ninjas, the middle-aged thugs, the “stupid cocaine”…and the entire MIAMI CONNECTION!”

The film is not rated. It features drug references, brief nudity, and martial arts violence.

Film: “This Changes Everything” @ 7th Street Theatre
Apr 26 @ 7:00 pm
Film: "This Changes Everything" @ 7th Street Theatre | Hoquiam | Washington | United States

Free admission, donations to cover screening costs and expenses kindly accepted.
Join us to watch this timely movie about the most important issue of our times: climate change.

The film “This Changes Everything” is an epic attempt to re-imagine the vast challenge of climate change. Inspired by Naomi Klein’s international non-fiction bestseller of the same name, the film presents seven powerful portraits of communities on the front lines. Throughout the film, Klein builds to her most controversial and exciting idea: that we can seize the existential crisis of climate change to transform our failed economic system into something radically better. This event is in support of a positive outcome from the work done at COP21, and bringing meaningful awareness to what we can all do now to build a carbon-free future for ourselves and our children.

Family Film: Iron Giant @ 7th Street Theatre
Mar 24 @ 7:30 pm

“The Iron Giant” is one of those rare animated features that offers plenty of fun and action to keep the kids entertained, wrapped around engaging characters and a story with a strong message.

Made in 1999, and based on a story by the British poet laureate Ted Hughes, the film takes place at the height of the Cold War and Sputnik-inspired anxieties and is loaded with period references to alarm over the Soviet threat and grade-B sci-fi and monster movies of the era.

The “iron giant” is a robot that drops from the sky and frightens a small town, setting off an overly zealous government agent. With the unlikely friendship of a lonely boy, the robot learns about humans and ultimately the duo helps the townspeople overcome their prejudices and fears.

Advance tickets are available at Harbor Drug and Crown Drug in Hoquiam, City Drug in Aberdeen and at the website, www.7thstreettheatre.com.
