This calendar is the place to find fun events happening throughout Grays Harbor County including Aberdeen, Hoquiam, Westport, Ocean Shores, Elma, Montesano and beyond.
Democracy Rising? is a Grays Harbor County Citizen Group sharing community concerns and wishing to offer a neutral “kitchen table” opportunity to meet more of our neighbors – both urban and rural – in a non-partisan way. Regardless of the national and international scene, we sense an urgent need to build trust within our region – our county, towns, countryside – the places where we live. We have serious long term challenges.
We will not be discussing National Politics. THINK LOCAL ONLY.
On Saturday, June 17th at 7:30 pm and Sunday, June 18th at 3 pm at the Bishop Center for Performing Arts, Grays Harbor College’s Opera Workshop concludes its inaugural season with a modern twist on Gilbert and Sullivan’s one-act courtroom farce, Trial by Jury.

Grays Harbor County Emergency Management is pleased to announce a military exercise and public showcase demonstration at the Westport Marina, testing how the Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and WA National Guard could deliver supplies and capabilities in the event of a catastrophic Cascadia Earthquake and Tsunami Event. The USS Rushmore will patrol off our Western Coast and launch a landing craft, holding various military vehicles. The landing craft will arrive at the boat launch next to the Coast Guard Station at 1600 N. Nyhus St. and offload military vehicles for public display. The US Coast Guard Station, Westport will be holding an open house during the day also. Numerous helicopters will be landing and flying around the area to rendezvous with the USS Rushmore offshore. There will be a static display of the helicopters during the event also. Thank you to the City of Westport, the US Coast Guard Station at Westport and to the Port of Grays Harbor for their support in conducting this event for all citizens of Washington State.
Doctors in our area are retiring or leaving the Harbor; finding primary care providers is harder than ever. Our panel includes people who work in the healthcare and insurance industries to facilitate discussion on where we are today, as well as what we can do to improve the future of healthcare in our county and state.
BHP, a leading global resources company, will be holding a public open house to inform the community and interested parties about a potential potash export facility at the Port of Grays Harbor’s Terminal 3 in west Hoquiam.
Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity for questions and discussions at various stations with BHP representatives. For more information, go here.
The luncheon will begin with candidates introducing themselves and sharing why they want to run for the office and their qualifications. Public may ask questions of candidates following all introductions. Candidates expected to attend are those running for Grays Harbor County Treasurer, Elma City Council, Grays Harbor Hospital District #1 (Summit Pacific Medical Center), Grays Harbor Fire District #5 and Elma School District #68 Directors.
