Improved parking, better lighting, public fishing dock improvements; do you have ideas on how the Port of Grays Harbor could improve their waterfront public access facilities?  Surveys hosted by the Port encourage the public to provide input regarding improvements they would like to see at each of its waterfront public access facilities.  Short surveys for Friends Landing, Sterling Landing and the Westport Marina are available during the month of September on the Port’s website, www.portofgraysharbor.com. Paper copies of surveys are also available at Friends Landing, the Westport Marina office, and the Port’s main office.

The Port is developing a Recreation Plan so that it may become eligible for state and federal funding in the future.  The surveys are the first of several opportunities for the public to weigh in on the Plan.  Additional opportunities will be announced as the planning process continues over the next several months before being adopted by the Port Commission in early 2016.

“We hope the public will take advantage of the survey and additional public input opportunities throughout the rest of the year to ensure we have a comprehensive list of the improvements desired at each location,” explained Alissa Shay, Manager of Business Development at the Satsop Business Park.  “We look forward to seeing the results of the surveys so we can better understand what the users of these facilities envision for future improvements.”
