Red Cedar at Vasa Hall

Located on Hoquiam’s busy Riverside Avenue across from the Farmer’s Market, the Red Cedar beer bar is located in historic Vasa Hall. The hall was built in 1927. Even the name of the bar is steeped in history. The Red Cedar is named after an old saw mill in Lake Quinault. The mill was owned by owner Nancy Dudley’s grandfather. The hall once hosted school dances in the 1950s and 1960s.

Red Cedar (or Red Cedar Pub) has a large fenced beer garden with handmade chairs and tables. Dogs are allowed to join their people at the bar. The fenced beer garden keeps dogs from roaming into the busy street.

Red Cedar at the Vasa offers both wine and beer and a variety of nachos to munch on while you enjoy a cold one. Plans for an expanded menu are in the works.

Hoquiam Brewing Company

526 8th Street, Hoquiam

They bought a1929 building “with great bones.” After an extensive remodel, Hoquiam Brewing Company (or Hoquiam Brewing Co.) poured its first pints in September of 2017.

Besides handcrafted beer, Hoquiam Brewing Company also serves delicious cocktails. Pair your cocktail with a pizza, sandwich or a variety of salads made from many locally sourced ingredients. A dinner menu is available. So are gluten-free cauliflower pizza crusts. The Hoquiam Brewing Company is also family friendly. A kid’s menu is available.

Hoquiam Brewing Company offers outdoor patio seating when the weather cooperates. Patrons can also relax inside in the ultra-industrial indoor space complete with exposed beams from the turn of the century.
