Four New Bridges Later: Work Complete on SR 8 in McCleary

Submitted by Washington State Department of Transportation

Six months ahead of schedule and much to the delight of travelers and salmon alike, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation have finished replacing outdated culverts under State Route 8 and reopened SR 108 near McCleary.

Travelers on SR 8 are now driving over four new bridges that span the Middle and East Forks of Wildcat Creek. The intersection of SR 8 and SR 108 has also reopened. All lanes on both highways are open in each direction and the speed limit restored to 60 mph.

WSDOT would like to thank travelers for their patience during this important fish passage project.
