With a family-friendly atmosphere, amazing food, and a fun, welcoming staff, it’s no wonder Westport Pizza Company has quickly become a favorite eatery among locals and visitors alike. Owners Mary Davis and John Buck, a husband-and-wife team, opened the restaurant in this cozy beach town on the Washington Coast in June of 2022.
“The outpouring of love we’ve received from the community has been amazing,” Mary says. She grew up in Westport, and has known many of the regular customers for years. In their spare time, Mary and John keep busy with their toddlers, Gracie and Hudson. “John and I felt there was a need for a good, family-friendly pizza parlor in Westport. Having small children ourselves, we wanted to make this a place where families could come in, enjoy some good food, and feel comfortable bringing their kids.”
Family-Friendly Restaurant in Westport
Both Mary and John have experience working in the restaurant industry, from waiting tables to helping in the kitchen, and dreamed of owning and operating their own small business for some time. When the opportunity to open a pizza parlor presented itself, “Everything just fell into place,” John shares.
They credit input from Brook Priest and Patricia Bonina of Aloha Alabama, a popular local restaurant Mary and John worked at for many years, as being invaluable. “We appreciate them so much,” Mary says. “They took us under their wings, shared their insight, and helped us figure things out.”
Conveniently located 1200 N. Montesano Street in Westport, the Westport Pizza Company building itself has been home to a few eateries over the years, including Original House of Pizza, Rock ‘n’ Beach, and Mama B’s Bakery.
“My mom worked at the Original House of Pizza when I was growing up,” Mary says. “I had fun hanging out in the office while she cooked. Now, it’s amazing to be back in this same building. I just love it here in Westport; I love the people and the vibe.”

Serving up great pizza, local brews, and friendly service seems to be the key to success for this dynamic duo and their dedicated and fun team at Westport Pizza. With a bright and welcoming décor, the eatery showcases colorful beach and surf artwork from Todd Fischer. Specially-designed arrangements by Angela at Evergreen Flower Farm are eye-catching, and custom-built doors and trim complete the inviting theme.
Local sports and events are often displayed on the television set, especially when the Seahawks or Mariners are playing. A private room is available for large groups, and a Pac-Man video console offers 60 different games to keep kids of all ages entertained. The outdoor patio fills up on sunny days, giving customers the chance to watch deer and other wildlife walking by, sailboats on the bay, and planes flying in and out of the neighboring airport.
Pizza, Salad, and More in Westport
The menu features a wide selection of signature and classic pizzas, appetizers and strombolis. In addition, there are salads, pizza bowls and a kid’s menu. Two of the most popular appetizers – stromboli bites and spinach artichoke dip – make a great start to your dining experience.
When it comes to choosing a pizza, Mary and John recommend a few of their customer favorites. The ToddFather is piled high with every ingredient imaginable – pepperoni, Italian sausage, smoked chicken, beef, ham, bacon, artichoke, spinach, bell peppers, jalapenos, black olives, mushrooms, red onions, diced tomatoes, and pineapple – wow! The Firecracker Point is popular, and has a little spice to it, with smoked chicken, spinach, roasted red peppers and red pepper flakes.
Asked about her personal favorite, Mary admits she likes to switch things up, so it’s difficult to choose. Her current go-to pizza choice is the Harpoon Drive with bell peppers, tomatoes, olives, onion, pineapple and spinach. One of John’s favorites is the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza. With house-made ranch sauce, roasted garlic, and slow smoked chicken from Aloha Alabama, this delightful indulgence is topped with bacon, diced tomatoes and red onions.
“We make our vegan-friendly dough fresh daily, and cut up all of our vegetables each morning,” Davis says. “Everything is fresh. We hear all of the time, ‘This is best pizza we’ve had in Washington’ and some people tell us it’s like New York-style pizza.”
Where To Go For Lunch in Westport
Popular with the lunch crowd is the slice, salad, and soda combo for just $10 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. “This is such a great deal,” John says. “Each slice is equal to two regular slices, plus you get a full-size salad and drink.”
The strombolis are a hit with customers, and the pizza bowls are perfect for those seeking keto-friendly and gluten-free options.
The 21+older crowd can satisfy their thirst with Mount Olympus draft beers, domestic beers by the bottle, and Elemental hard ciders. A selection of sodas, strawberry and blackberry spritzers, and strawberry and cherry lemonades are also available.
