The event starts with a ride aboard the Simpson Railroad trailer car around the loop over to the event grounds. This year events are located in our operations area to provide more space. There we will have a hay bale/straw maze to navigate thru -hopefully it is not haunted with loggers past. Grab a cup of hot cider to sip while you listen to not too scary short stories read by Area youth and literary groups. Don’t forget just before you get back on the trailer car for the short ride back stop at the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin to take home. While at the activities grounds keep a sharp eye out for trick or treat candy.
Kids are encouraged to wear and show off their costumes.

Join the artists and makers of Urban Unglued Freaks adn Fae Markets at Freaks at the Beach. This is a unique market of the odd and unusual, featuring both local and out of town makers. We will be at the Ocean Shores Convention Center Jan 15 and 16 with all of our weirdness and fun. It is always free to enter any Urban Unglued event.
New York Times best-selling author Tessa Bailey is releasing her upcoming novel Hook, Line and Sinker at Westport Winery Garden Resort on Saturday, March 5, from 2pm to 4pm. This is Bailey’s second romantic comedy set in Westport, Washington, jokingly known as a “drinking town with a fishing problem.” This sequel builds on the book It Happened One Summer, as both feature the unique interaction between local crab fishermen and out-of-town young women learning to fit into this tiny coastal community.
Ms. Bailey lives and writes from her home on New York’s Long Island. This is her first trip to the Washington Coast. The ticket price is $34 and includes an autographed copy of Hook, Line and Sinker, a question-and-answer session, appetizers from the winery’s award-winning Sea Glass Grill, a glass of wine, and free admission to the International Mermaid Museum, where the event will be held at the resort.
Westport Winery Garden Resort’s 15-acre property is located halfway between Westport and Aberdeen at 1 South Arbor Road, Aberdeen WA. It is home to the award-winning Sea Glass Grill, the new Mermaid Lounge, Ocean’s Daughter Distillery, and the International Mermaid Museum all of which are open daily 11am to 6pm.

And we are so excited to announce that this year we are partnering with the Dungeness Crab and Seafood Festival from Port Angeles. Come enjoy a fresh dungeness crab meal complete with herbed potatoes and coleslaw. And if that isn’t enough great food – Sunday morning there will be breakfast with crab benedict and a mimosa or bloody mary. Seriously – so much good food for the weekend.
The festival is free to attend. Check out the vendors and listen to the music. And if you want to taste the best of the city’s chowder and seafood you can buy a tasting passport – and of course, you can purchase tickets for the crab dinner or breakfast.
