Meet Teen Book Author April Henry @ McCleary Timberland Library

April Henry is the award-winning New York Times best-selling author of fast-paced mysteries and thrillers, including “Torched,” “Girl, Stolen,” “The Girl Who Was Supposed to Die,” and her newest book, “The Body in the Woods.”

Teens and their families are invited to join Ms. Henry as she offers down-to-earth tips on writing, publishing, and juggling life with the creative process. For background for her novels, she interviews experts in fields such as crime-fighting and medicine and has spent time with the Portland Police Bureau’s Forensic Evidence Division. Fun facts: Henry wrote on her website, www.aprilhenrymysteries.com, that she “loves kung fu, running, and all things salty,” and has written an episode for the phone app “Zombies, Run!”

Books will be available for purchase and signing. All teens are invited. This event is part of Summer Reading, a Timberland Regional Library districtwide program.

16th Annual Aberdeen Art Walk & Celebration: Artists Reception @ Downtown Aberdeen

2014 Aberdeen Downtown Art Walk and Celebration’s 16th annual event will take place in the heart of historical downtown Aberdeen. Organizers Aberdeen Revitalization Movement and the Midnight Cruisers have teamed up once again to provide a day of fun and entertainment for area Art lovers and Car Enthusiasts.

The popular event will include talented artists and crafts persons set up throughout Central Downtown Aberdeen. Entertainment will include outstanding performances by local talents.  Artists, Entertainers, and food vendors will guide the way to Midnight Cruisers Car Show of Outstanding Autos. Book lovers will enjoy The Annual Aberdeen Library Book Sale .

On Friday, an Artist’s Reception will be  followed by a Street Dance with the band Ready or Not.

16th Annual Aberdeen Art Walk & Celebration @ Downtown Aberdeen

2014 Aberdeen Downtown Art Walk and Celebration’s 16th annual event will take place in the heart of historical downtown Aberdeen. Organizers Aberdeen Revitalization Movement and the Midnight Cruisers have teamed up once again to provide a day of fun and entertainment for area Art lovers and Car Enthusiasts.

The popular event will include talented artists and crafts persons set up throughout Central Downtown Aberdeen. Entertainment will include outstanding performances by local talents.  Artists, Entertainers, and food vendors will guide the way to Midnight Cruisers Car Show of Outstanding Autos. Book lovers will enjoy The Annual Aberdeen Library Book Sale .

Saturday’s event will include the Car Show from 10:00 a.m.-3:oo p.m. and the anticipated Art Walk Celebration from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Blue Tail Gallery Grand Opening @ Blue Tail Gallery

You are invited to attend the grand opening of “Blue Tail Gallery”, a new art venue in Ocean Shores. Enjoy refreshments while admiring the artworks on display of several local and international artists.

The “Blue Tail Gallery” is located in the North Beach Printing building. Owner Artemisa Garcia shares her new venture with the residents and visitors here in Ocean Shores by inviting you to this grand opening event.

Among the artists participating in this venture are award-wining artists, international artists, amateur artists, and some artists that have never exhibited before. So there is a lot of talent, variety and beauty to behold under one roof. The collection of original fine arts and reproductions includes: watercolors, oil, acrylics, pastels, encaustic, and photography are available for sale, including greeting cards.

Blue Tail Gallery will be open from Monday through Thursday 9am-6pm, Fridays, and Saturdays 10am-8pm, and Sundays 10am-5pm.

The result of the event, now in its third year, has been increased foot traffic in downtown, a spike in sales for local businesses, join participating businesses every First Thursday from May through September and enjoy special deals, food, music and local art.
