This event is a benefit for Evan Klima who underwent a kidney transplant, just one day after finishing a marathon.
He has many challenges ahead, including many trips back to UW for appointments. The expense of these trips and all the medications create an enormous strain on his disability income. Evan keeps pushing on! His hope is to inspire those who are on dialysis and anyone who simply needs encouragement to face the challenges of life.

Salty Saturday projects are flexible and can accommodate individuals, groups or organizations. Minors over 12 are welcome, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Our first Salty Saturday is scheduled for Saturday, March 1.
Inside and outside projects are available. A Seaport Landing staff member will help volunteers find an appropriate project. Volunteers should dress warmly, even for indoor projects. Volunteers interested in helping with gardening and landscaping should bring their own garden tools.

Event organizers will discuss the timeline, expectations, logistics and promotional opportunities of “First Thursdays” and allow time for question-and-answer where ideas and concerns could be shared.
We will be inviting some past participants to share their experiences, both positive and what they learned that helped them improve the outcome for their business.
Attendance at the Kick-off is highly encouraged for all businesses that are considering participating, and please include any staff members who may be working face-to-face with customers during the event so your team is on the same page.

Enjoy a week of razor clam digging! Diggers ages 15 and older must have a current 2014-2015 fishing license to harvest razor clams on state beaches. If you would like to participate in the dig, you can purchase a license online, here, and from license vendors around the state.
Under state law, diggers can take 15 razor clams per day and are required to keep the first 15 they dig. Each digger’s clams must be kept in a separate container.
