Grays Harbor Community Foundation Awards Over $700,000 in Scholarships

Submitted by Grays Harbor Community Foundation

Thanks to our kind and generous donors, this year the Grays Harbor Community Foundation awarded over $700,000 to students throughout Grays Harbor County for their post-secondary education. Students are able to attend any school or program of their choice and all scholarships are renewable at variable amounts for an additional three years.

Rich Vroman, Chairman of the Scholarship Committee commented:

“We are lucky to live in a community that is tremendously supportive of our students. This year we awarded the highest dollar amount in scholarships to students in our 23 year history. Without our great donors our giving would not be possible. We have several donors who have set up scholarship funds to honor their loved ones as well as entire past graduating classes who have chosen to come together and set up a scholarship fund as a group. Our community as a whole cares deeply about seeing our students succeed.”

The Grays Harbor Community Foundation awards scholarships annually to Grays Harbor County residents or students who have graduated from a Grays Harbor County high school and are planning to attend college or a vocational program. The next application period will be January 2- March 1, 2018. A full list of this year’s recipients can be found at the Grays Harbor Community Foundation website.
