Don’t take a vacation from donating blood! Summer at Bloodworks Northwest is a tough one as they typically see a sharp downturn in blood donations – 15% fewer people are donating due to holidays, vacations and nicer weather. It is incredibly difficult to generate enough donations during this time of year, yet the need for blood never takes a vacation.

Join us for our July Community Education Dinner! The topic is Advance Care Planning. Our speaker, Mary Ellen Biggerstaff, DNP, is a primary care provider at Summit Pacific Healthcare Clinic in Elma. Mary Ellen will be speaking about the importance of having our medical wishes known with those we love throughout all stages of our lives.
An Advance Directive is a written statement of your wishes regarding medical treatment, often including a living will, made to ensure those wishes are carried out should you be unable to communicate them. Advance Directives also ensure that your loved ones are not burdened with making stressful decisions.
Guests will be treated to complimentary dinner from Café Salute! No RSVP required.
Mark Farner from Grand Funk Railroad will be at The D&R Theatre. Farner is known for hits like “American Band,” “Some Kind of Wonderful, ” “Closer to Home.”

Doctors in our area are retiring or leaving the Harbor; finding primary care providers is harder than ever. Our panel includes people who work in the healthcare and insurance industries to facilitate discussion on where we are today, as well as what we can do to improve the future of healthcare in our county and state.

Attention paddling, rowing, SUP and water sports enthusiasts. All human-powered water craft are invited to a fun-filled day on the beautiful canals of Ocean Shores Washington.
In addition to the popular Poker Paddle, activities will include 2 or 6-mile human-powered boat races, rubber duck pond and race for the kids, a cardboard boat race, Quinault Paddle Exhibition, speakers, vendors, skills demonstrations and a Music Festival just across the way in our beautiful new grassy Amphitheater. Please join us for a one-day training for professionals who have a high degree of contact with those at elevated risk of suicide. You will increase your knowledge and skills in suicide risk detection and initial intervention to immediately reduce the risk of suicide. You will also learn about community mental health supports and resources.

Kaleidoscope Belly Dance presents “Mosaic In Motion”, a celebration of performing arts, providing an environment for expression of movement for performers of all genres, ages, and levels of experience.

The Peak Health Wellness Fair will host more than 30 vendors who will be providing free information, giveaways and health screenings such as vision, hearing, blood pressure and glucose testing. Thanks in part to Summit Pacific Medical Foundation, children will have access to free bike helmets (while supplies last), important safety lessons at the bike rodeo hosted by Elma High School and have an opportunity to tour vehicles such as an ambulance and fire truck. Some other crowd favorite activities are the massage and reflexology booths!
