The first pottery class is a hand building class to make tiny pot, encouraging those who participate to enter their pieces in a miniature art exhibit being held on Sept. 25 at the Summer Gallery in Westport. You can make anything you want as long as it is miniature and fits in the palm of your hand. The first class is from 9:00 a.m. to noon on June 25. The second Saturday, July 2 is from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to complete the piece. The class is $20 and includes all materials. Please email southbeacharts@gmail.com to register.
Join Oyhut Bay for a Naturalist Tide Pool Walk at Damon Point this Saturday. We will meet at the Oyhut Bay Welcome Center and then head over to Damon Point together.
Explore starfish, fish and other tidepool life plus learn about Damon Point and even some Ocean Shores history with a representative from the Coastal Interpretive Center.

“Pottery Basics 1” for 6 weeks. Students will learn to work with clay using basic hand building techniques. The first class is Thursday July 7 and will run through August 11 from 9am-Noon every Thursday. There will be three extra open studio times during the run of the class to complete work. Material fee of $25 will include hand tools and clay. Class cost is $62.00, $57.00 if you are over 50 yrs old. Register with Grays Harbor Continuing Education. 360-538-4088. The Partnership will receive a presentation on the draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement regarding flood damage reduction alternatives in the Chehalis, in advance of the opening of the public comment period.
Westport Timberland Library presents Canoe Building in the Chinook Tradition, 6-7 p.m., October 19 for adults and teens. Tony Johnson is Tribal Chair for the Chinook Tribe–and a master canoe builder. He will share the lore and craftsmanship of building a wood canoe following tribal practices with a talk illustrated by slides of canoes he has built. This is part of Timberland Reads Together, an annual Timberland Regional Library district-wide program. For more information call 360-268-0521.
