Join the community along with the Lake Quinault Cancer Society and pedal with purpose during the 26th Lake Quinault Rainforest Cancer Fund Bike Ride.
This is the 26th year of the ride, which happens rain or shine (usually shine!). The funds raised by this activity are used to assist members of the Quinault/Neilton/Amanda Park area who are diagnosed with cancer or have some other catastrophic illness or life event. The funds can be used for gas money, meals, lodging and more. Funds can also be used to assist when a resident experiences a different catastrophic event like a house fire or serious accident.
The ride is non-competitive, un-timed, and appropriate for all ages, and is a very popular event with lots of riders who return every year. Helmets are required. It starts and ends at the Lake Quinault School in Amanda Park. The route goes from the school to North Shore Road, up to the Park bridge and back down the South Shore Road and back to the school. The route is approximately 30 miles, with half being paved roadway and the other half well-packed gravel. Riders get to experience the beautiful Quinault valley in it’s full glory, with beautiful views, wildlife sightings and lots of fresh air to enjoy. There are comfort stations at 2 spots along the route which provide bathroom facilities, snacks and water. “Sag wagons” patrol the route as well, ready to offer assistance or a ride to anyone in need. Food services, lodging and camping are available at various locations at the lake.
T-shirts are available for an additional $10 each. Pre-registration is not required, but is recommended if you want to be sure of a t-shirt, as a limited number are made each year. You can call 360-580-1206 or email mgstamon@comcast.net for additional information or to obtain a registration form.

Come out to see cult classic and rarity Miami Connection (1987) at the historic 7th Street Theatre! All proceeds for this showing benefit the local animal rescue Harbor Rescue – “saving people, one dog at a time”!
We worked hard to get a super fun, cult-following film! Don’t miss out on a one-time event! We will also be featuring food and raffle items from local businesses such as Passport Cafe and Rediviva. This isn’t just a movie, it’s a fun community event and it’s all for a good cause – helping Harbor Rescue with abandonment and neglect cases and making life better for all citizens of Grays Harbor – four-legged and two-legged.
“The year is 1987. Motorcycle ninjas tighten their grip on Florida’s narcotics trade, viciously annihilating anyone who dares move in on their turf. Multi-national martial arts rock band Dragon Sound have had enough, and embark on a roundhouse wreck-wave of crime-crushing justice. When not chasing beach bunnies or performing their hit song “Against the Ninja,” Mark (taekwondo master/inspirational speaker Y.K. Kim) and the boys are kicking and chopping at the drug world’s smelliest underbelly. It’ll take every ounce of their blood and courage, but Dragon Sound can’t stop until they’ve completely destroyed the dealers, the drunk bikers, the kill-crazy ninjas, the middle-aged thugs, the “stupid cocaine”…and the entire MIAMI CONNECTION!”
The film is not rated. It features drug references, brief nudity, and martial arts violence.

This is a four person, shotgun start, golf tournament sponsored by Grays Harbor Volunteer Search and Rescue where all proceeds will go towards equipment and training for this non-profit group.
