The Aberdeen School District and Aberdeen Education Association are co-hosting a reception honoring all staff who are retiring from service to the District this year. All are invited.
It’s that time of year again. Come out to the fairgrounds to watch the Elma High School Class of 2017 graduate. Watch as the tassels move side to side and the hats come off! We’ll see you there!

We’ve all seen would-be beautiful spaces choked by a field of invasive plants, whether they be Scotch Broom, blackberry thickets, tansy, thistles, reed canary grass, knotweed…. you get the picture. But what is our local government doing about it, and how can we help? Join Nancy Ness, coordinator for the Grays Harbor County Noxious Weed Board on an exploratory workshop on invasive control methods in use by our local governments. Prepare for the weather with rain gear, boots, or sunscreen as needed.
The celebration is for anyone earning a GED between July 2016 and now who took the GED tests at the College. Those interested in participating should contact the Transitions office at 360-538-4167 as soon as possible.
Not only does the event acknowledge those who have successfully passed the GED test, but also those who have earned their high school diplomas through GHC’s High School 21+ program. Tickets are not required for the ceremony.
Join the Tokeland Fourth of July Parade at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, then picnic on the grounds of the Historic Tokeland Hotel. It’s free to enter the parade (your imagination is the only thing required) and the picnic lunch and games for all ages on the grounds are free, also. Prizes will be awarded for best parade entry and winners of all of the different games.

Join us for our July Community Education Dinner! The topic is Advance Care Planning. Our speaker, Mary Ellen Biggerstaff, DNP, is a primary care provider at Summit Pacific Healthcare Clinic in Elma. Mary Ellen will be speaking about the importance of having our medical wishes known with those we love throughout all stages of our lives.
An Advance Directive is a written statement of your wishes regarding medical treatment, often including a living will, made to ensure those wishes are carried out should you be unable to communicate them. Advance Directives also ensure that your loved ones are not burdened with making stressful decisions.
Guests will be treated to complimentary dinner from Café Salute! No RSVP required.
Drop-in anytime during the event and join the race. A BioBlitz is a rally to find as many species of plant, animal, or fungi as possible. We’ll keep a set area, and a set time, making it a race against the clock to learn about our wild neighbors. We want to catch them all! (on camera)
We need your eyes and ears! Bring the whole family for a learning adventure fit for all ages. Don’t know any species? Don’t worry! We’ve got you covered! We’re bringing species ID professionals and reference books galore.
