Grays Harbor Historical Seaport
Head to the Grays Harbor Historical Seaport for Fourth of July tours on the tall ships! You can tour the ships for just $5, or go on a sail for an amazing experience. This year they are offering battle sails as well as the special Fireworks Sail, where you can watch the fireworks from the deck of the tall ships. On July 5 they have a special sailing to Wesport and an evening sail where you watch the sunset from the tall ships. Seabrook Porch Illumination Celebration

This annual Fourth of July tradition in Seabrook is a wonderful way to kick off your Independence Day celebrations in Grays Harbor. The Seabrook Porch Illumination Celebration starts at 6:00 p.m., when you can walk past the decorated homes, complete with lights of course, and vote for your favorite until 9:00 p.m. Then, head to the firepits to enjoy s’mores. Both homeowners and cottage renters can participate. The winners of the people’s choice and the judge’s choice awards will be announced at the 11:00 a.m. flag presentation on July 4, at the Front Street Amphitheater flag pole. Check out the annual celebration of the Quinault Indian Nation’s Chief Taholah Days that commemorates the 1855 Treaty. All events are free to attend, though there may be a cost to participate. Aberdeen’s Splash Festival on the 4th of July is a great way to spend the day. They will have live music, family-friend entertainers, food and craft vendors and free inflatable rides and games all at Morrison Park. Westport Old-Fashioned Family Fourth of July Celebration

Head out to the Westport Maritime Museum for the Old-Fashioned Family Fourth of July Celebration. The festival is free, and you can visit the Museum and lens hall while you are there for admission. There will be vendors, kids’ games and three bouncy houses/obstacle courses. Don’t forget the 4th of July food! They will have hot dogs, brats, chips, soda, root beer floats, strawberry shortcake – all the Americana fare you are craving. There will also be a bake sale, silent auction and a good ol’ fashioned cake walk. Like music will be provided by Michelle Bernath.

After attending the Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration, head to the Marina for a firework display in Westport. They will be shot from firecracker point, so anywhere at the Marina or going toward the Marina is usually a good place to see them or on a boat. Starts at dusk, around 10:00 – 10:15 p.m.

Tokeland Independence Day Parade and Picnic

The annual Tokeland Independence Day Parade and Picnic has moved to after the 4th of July this year, but it’s still going to be tons of fun! The Parade starts at 11:00 a.m. at the Marina in Tokeland. It winds down at Kindred Avenue to 7th Street, turning left at Fischer. It rejoins the road at the Y and goes back past the hotel to the Marina. Park at a lot adjacent to the hotel. The picnic lunch and games follow the end of the parade. The picnic lunch is by donation, and there will be all your favorites including hot dogs, chips, cookies, beans and several types of drinks including water. Nothing pairs better with fireworks than loud, fast cars! Finish off your Fourth of July activities in Grays Harbor with the Q Mart Fireworks and Mid-Season Championships at the Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma. Events include the 360 sprint cars, modifieds, street stocks, and outlet turners. Don’t forget the huge firework show that rounds out the evening! The grandstands open at 5:30 p.m. and the event is from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Tickets are just $16 for adults, $12 for youth, senior and active military, with children under 6-years-old getting in for free.
