Parades, red, white and blue J-ELLO (you know you secretly love it), flags and fireworks are synonymous with Fourth of July celebrations around the country. This year, things are different. With COVID-19, social distancing mandates caused all firework displays, Fourth of July parades, festivals and events to be regrettably cancelled. When the Quinault Beach Resort and Casino found out their firework permits would not be approved, they were determined to provide beach goers with some July 4 entertainment in Grays Harbor. Working feverishly, they were able to come up with a safe and fun alternative, a laser light show on July 4, at approximately 10:00 p.m. (when it’s dark).

The beach is always a great place to celebrate the Fourth of July, and this year Quinault Beach Resort and Casino found a way to give you a show, despite everything.

The laser light show is going to be a fun, rock out festival that the whole family will love. If you have never been to a laser show, you are missing out! The concentrated laser lights are able to create incredible light affects, including designs, that coordinate with the music. Agility AVL out of Fife, Washington, is providing the show at Quinault Beach Resort and Casino. Agility AVL is known for their spectacular shows using “out of the box” thinking to create an experience that is truly memorable. They have done staging and effects for some big names, including SugarLand, WFC80, and numerous events throughout Southwest Washington.

Due to social distancing, the show will take place outside the Quinault Beach Resort and Casino’s main parking. You can park in the parking lot or the beach to watch. Viewers are asked to stay in their car.  “We are encouraging a safe 4th of July, drive-in style celebration,” says Mark Palmer, marketing director for Quinault Beach Resort and Casino. The show will last for approximately 25 minutes.

A positive to a laser light show is no big booms or loud whistles to scare the dog or young children, so you can bring the entire family! Just tune your car radio to Sunny 102.1 FM and listen to the coordinated patriotic music provided by Jodesha Broadcasting. You get to control how loud it is so the whole family can enjoy.
