Submitted by the Aberdeen Rotary Club

The Aberdeen Rotary Club has announced Kayla Arnold as their January student of the month award recipient.

Kayla has been active with Relay for Life, Loggers Playday, and Foodball, which she chaired this year. She plays and coaches soccer at Aberdeen High School (AHS) and in Olympia. She is the ASB Executive Secretary and was awarded top scholar athlete, the coaches award, MVP, and the team first award at AHS.

Kayla has a GPA of 3.99 and is fourth in her class. She plans to attend a four year university to pursue a career in either physical therapy or nursing. Kayla is the daughter of Laurie and Steve Arnold.

Each year the Rotary Club of Aberdeen honors AHS Seniors through the student of the month recognition and scholarship program. One senior is recognized each month, October through May. Two of these eight students are then selected in June for either the $1,000 “Blue” or $2,000 “Gold” scholarship to the school of their choice.
