Many of the attractions offered at last year’s Wellness Fair will be offered at this year’s event, although there are several new events taking place as well. Among the attractions this year is the first ever Peak Health Family 5k Fun Run & Walk hosted by Summit Pacific Medical Foundation and sponsored by Molina Healthcare. Registration is available online or the day of at 9:00 a.m. for an additional $5. Participants are asked to register on or before October 5 to receive their preferred shirt size. All proceeds of the run will be used to enhance and expand the Wellness Trail on the SPMC campus.

Following the 5k, various healthcare related vendors will be on site with booths and giveaways. Many vendors will be providing services such as free massages, vision tests, hearing tests, blood pressure checks and more! Pick up a Wellness Report Card to track all of your test results.

Visit the SPMC booth to learn about the Virtual Care Clinic, hospital services and speak to a healthcare provider about your Wellness Report Card. Guests who want to receive their flu shot can register inside of the SPMC lobby. Most insurance plans offer a free annual flu shot.

If you’re hungry, SPMC’s Executive Chef, Brandon Smith will be serving a farm fresh community lunch made with local ingredients from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Pets are also welcome and you can bring your favorite four-legged friend to the 1:00 p.m. Pet Walk around the Wellness Trail.

Bring the children to take part in a bike rodeo to learn how to ride their bikes safely and avoid accidents. SPMC is also giving away and fitting children for free bicycle helmets.

The goal of this event is to educate the community on the services that are available to them, not just at the medical center, but also throughout the community. In addition the event aims to offer preventative testing and discuss the results of the testing. It is important for people to be a partner in their own wellness and understand their healthcare and the tools available to them.

Visit Summit Pacific Medical Center on October 15 for a chance to win one of the door prizes, check out the interactive booths, eat a healthy lunch and take your first step in taking charge of your healthcare.
