LifeNet Health recognized the Director of Education Dori Unterseher, MN RN, for her outstanding support for the gift of tissue donation. Unterseher received the 2019 Clinical Educator Award, which is given to hospital partners to recognize an individual who has excelled in facilitating, supporting and educating the hospital staff about tissue donation.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions the award was presented to Dori via tele-conference call by Heidi Schaiberger of LifeNet Health. The presentation was kept secret until the time of the presentation. Shaiberger had arranged for the award to arrive early and it was handed to Dori by Tom Jensen, CEO of Grays Harbor Community Hospital.

Said Unterseher upon receiving the award, “I am so honored to receive recognition from LifeNet Health for doing a job that I love. I believe that education in any form equals endless possibilities and it is a privilege to provide education specifically regarding Organ and Tissue Donation to my healthcare colleagues at GHCH. Organ and tissue donation touches so many lives and we never know when it could be us. LifeNet Health offers hope and comfort in sad and difficult circumstances and their work contributes to improving and often saving lives. In accepting this award, I salute the many GHCH employees that care for the patients and families who find themselves making organ and tissue donation their choice. I couldn’t be in better company.”

One tissue donor can help restore health to more than 150 patients in need. Community partners are an essential part of the donation process and are crucial to ensuring that a donor and their family’s final wishes to help others are honored.

LifeNet Health helps save lives, restore health, and give hope to thousands each year. It is the world’s most trusted provider of transplant solutions — from organ and tissue procurement to bio-implants and cellular therapies — and a leader in regenerative medicine, while always honoring the donors and healthcare professionals who enable healing.
