You may have seen a new construction on South Boone Street in Aberdeen and wondered, “What’s going in there?” Well, the wait is over – the new Grays Harbor Grocery Store is opening soon! Located at 1700 S Boone Street Unit B, next door to the Ocean Inn & Suites Hotel, the new grocery store in Aberdeen will be open 24 hours, 7 days a week and is owned and operated Saroya Industries.
“We are a large team that grew from family-owned cornerstones nine years ago,” shares Navpreet Saroya, CEO of Saroya Industries. The company has owned and operated gas stations, truck stops, apartment complexes, single-family homes, and hotels and motels over the years.
“Our family business began nine years ago with my father, mother and younger brother,” Navpreet adds. “Since then, we’ve expanded to over 100 employees across seven independently owned businesses from Southern Oregon to Washington’s South Sound.”
Aberdeen Grocery Store Opening Soon
The Saroya family is originally from Tacoma. This is their first property in Grays Harbor, and they are thrilled to be here. “What drew us in was the Grays Harbor College administration and the surrounding area of business owners,” shares Navpreet. “We had such a warm welcome, and we loved the ambition they had about Aberdeen’s future.”
Saroya Industries bought the property in February of 2024 and started construction shortly after. Now, just a year later, they are finishing construction and will be open mid-February 2025.
The Grays Harbor Grocery Store features a brand-new cooler and freezer, a wide selection of candies and flavored nicotine products, such as ZYNs and ROUGE, vapes and cigarettes.
“We set unique goals for each property, and at Grays Harbor Grocery, our focus is on supporting both Grays Harbor College and the larger community by offering quality food at lower prices,” shares Navpreet. “We want to ensure that convenient, affordable options are accessible to everyone. We’re grateful for all the support this community has shown us, and we’re dedicated to giving back in every way we can.”
Customers will enjoy an ongoing promotion for as long as Saroya Industries owns the business: spend $30 and get a free coffee or fountain drink of their choosing.
The family is most excited about meeting new people through their new business. “We know the store will have a major impact on college students and the apartments that are right across the street,” shares Navpreet, “but meeting new people is always the best part of the job!”
They plan on adding RV parking and hookups at the back of the property to further serve the community.
