Mudslide Closes SR 109 in Grays Harbor County

A portion of State Route 109 in Hoquiam is closed after heavy rainfall triggered a mudslide. The highway will remain closed in Hoquiam at milepost 2 until further notice. Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews are working to remove a large tree that fell onto the highway along with hillside sediment.

After the highway is safely evaluated, WSDOT will identify next steps for repairs and reopening.

During the closure, travelers in Hoquiam can detour using via Powell Road.
