We may not go out a-wassailing over the holidays anymore, but raising a glass with your co-workers, neighbors, family and loved ones is as old a tradition as any. Once the parties have passed, the tree is put away, and the New Year successfully celebrated, head to Elma’s Winter Wine Festival, happening Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the Grays Harbor County Fair & Event Center. The event will have music and fun that’ll celebrate 2024 with a WineDown HoeDown country kick.
There will be vendors, live music and of course plenty of tasty 21+ beverages. So come ready to shop, sip and boot-scoot your way around the dance floor. Get your tickets early for this seasonal celebration of community, fun, friends and wine.

Enjoy a WineDown HoeDown at the Elma Winter Wine Festival
Hosted by the Elma Chamber of Commerce, the festival takes place in the Mike Murphy Pavilion at the Grays Harbor County Fair & Event Center from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. Are you a vendor wanting to participate this year or sign up for next year’s event? No problem says Chamber director Jillanna Bickford. Email ElmaChamber@gmail.com or call 360.482.3055 to sign up. A limited number of spaces for January 2024 are still open. Sponsorships are also available.
Entry tickets are available for presale at select locations in the Harbor as well as via Facebook and the Chamber’s website. Ticket packages can be for admission only or bumped up to include a commemorative wine glass and packets of wine tasting script. Prices are discounted during this presale period so don’t miss out.
Monies raised help the Chamber fund future events at little or no cost to the public and Bickford expects at least 1,200 guests this year alone.

Sample Wine, Beer, Cider and Mead with Live Music in Grays Harbor
Bickford and the Chamber team are excited to welcome musical performers from across the region. “The lineup this year for artists is Amanda Ransom from Aberdeen, Jokers Wild from the Grays Harbor area, and Aaron Crawford from the Seattle area,” she explains. “Amanda’s sound is folk/pop/country, Jokers Wild is more of a cover band with a wide variety of music from older to newer, and county to rock. Aaron is more Seattle country with a little grunge. Be prepared to dance and have fun with friends and family and ready to meet new friends while you’re here.”

There will be a beer garden, mead and wineries from all over. Try samples from Burley Mountain Winery, Coyote Canyon Winery, GH Wine Sellars, Gouger Cellars, Hoodsport Winery, Leony’s Cellars, Long Cellars, Marchetti Wines, Mill Lane Winery, Reeds Sweet Wine, Stina’s Cellars, Three of Cups Winery, Tirriddis Sparkling Wines, Westport Winery, Wildcat Creek Cider, Wild Man Brewing, Woohoo Winery and Wynoochee River Winery.
Nearly all of them have attended the Winter Wine Festival before and are excited to return to with their latest and greatest blends, new varietals and fan-favorite classics to restock your post-holiday stash.

Celebrating the Elma Chamber of Commerce All Year Round
More than just an economic asset for local businesses, the Elma Chamber hosts amazing events all year round. After the Wine Festival kicks off each January, there is April’s Citizen of the Year award and Enhance Elma citywide clean-up. May brings the Memorial Day Weekend Red, White and Blue Parade and June shakes things up with a citywide garage sale.
Summer welcomes the Heat on the Street car and motorcycle show and street dance with headliner’s Joker’s Wild. Then it’s time for October’s Fall Festival, November’s Veteran’s Day celebration and parade and the Christmas Tree Lighting Festival in December. From June through September shop the Friday Market and support local crafters, growers, creators and artisans.
Whatever your traditions, spending time with loved ones and your chosen community is key. Thanks to organizations like the Chamber, there’s always something fun just around the corner. Check out their business directory for new places to visit or say congrats to the Business of the Quarter.
Until then grab a stack of tickets to the Elma Winter Wine Festival, dust off your cowboy boots, tassels, and fringes, and head to the Fairgrounds with loved ones for a night of live music and midwinter fun. Burning off Christmas cookie calories on the dance floor is definitely a New Year’s Resolution. If not, you still have time to add it to the list and get ready for a night to remember.
