Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney and Danny Kaye star in the 1954 release, with songs and music by the legendary composer Irving Berlin.  The feel-good story has WWII veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis (Crosby and Kaye) teaming up to become a top song-and-dance act and becoming romantically involved with sisters Betty and Judy Haynes (played by Clooney and Vera-Ellen) who also have a song-and-dance act. When Betty and Judy travel to a Vermont lodge to perform a Christmas show, Wallace and Davis follow, only to find their former commander, General Waverly, is the lodge owner. A series of romantic mix-ups ensue as the performers try to help the General save the failing lodge.

The film features Berlin’s title tune that had already become a holiday staple, “White Christmas.” The song was originally heard in 1942’s Holiday Inn, and received the Academy Award for Best Song that year, Berlin’s only Oscar win.

Crosby was a native of Tacoma, WA, and won a Best Actor Oscar for 1944’s Going My Way. He is a member of the Radio Hall of Fame and is widely considered to be popular culture’s first multi-media star, having topped the charts on radio, with movies, television specials and a recording career that included 38 number one singles, more than Elvis Presley or The Beatles.
