Aberdeen Events Calendar

Hosted by the Shelton Skookum Rotary Club Foundation and attended by thousands, OysterFest is home to the West Coast Oyster Shucking Championships and is Washington State’s official seafood festival.

The festival also features a popular cook-off, hands-on water quality exhibits, and is itself a giant a food pavilion with nearly 100 unique items on the menu: BBQ oysters, fritters, spring rolls, garlic shrimp, fresh cider and so much more. Better yet, your culinary adventure supports about 100 local non-profit service clubs and organizations, as well as funding scholarships and local community improvement projects.

Books Galore: paperbacks, hard cover, fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks, children’s, local interest, audio books, DVD’s, and so much more! Most are 2 for $1.

All proceeds and donations to Friends of the Library go to supplement library programs and services. Help us help your local library.

2017 will herald the 14th year of the Galway Bay Celtic Music Festival, celebrating Irish songs, ballads, players and bands. An eclectic mix of Irish bands, choirs and dancers hailing from throughout the United States, Canada and, of course, Ireland will be rounding out this year’s entertainment.

Minors are allowed at the Convention Center, but not at Galway Bay or 8th Street. Children under 12 Are Free.

Memorial Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. Parade at 1:00 p.m.   Enjoy covered seating and an announcer, located on Third and Main Street at the Elma Visitors Station. Three prizes for parade entries are being offered: Most Patriotic Entry $100; Judges Choice $50; and Most Creative $25. Dale’s Lavender Valley will be at the Ocean Shores Convention Center along with 70 arts and crafts booths – just in time for the holidays! We will be featuring lots of new products.

Gift ideas ranging from wonderful stocking stuffers to great hostess gifts as well as delightful holiday gifts for everyone. We hope to see you there!

There will be groups from Robert Gray Elementary School and Aberdeen High School singing; Hot drinks and cookies (free); Santa will arrive on a Fire Truck; the trees in the park will be lit.

The downtown shops will be open and most are participating. The participating stores will offer a free drawing – just go into each store and fill in a drawing ticket. Drawing will be held on Saturday after 3:00 p.m.

WinterFest continues! Beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the D & R Event Center on So. I St., Aberdeen children up to age 12 can have Breakfast with Santa for free (donation for adults); Pictures with Santa (by the GH Hospital Foundation – $10 per picture); free crafts for kids; letters to Santa;

New this year: Holiday Market with 35+ vendors at the former Goldberg’s Furniture Store – 117 W. Wishkah St., Aberdeen – 10:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Downtown shops will be open – free drawing items at all participating stores, including the Holiday Market. Stop by each store and enter the drawings – winners will be notified after 3:00 p.m.

Also new this year – we are partnering with the Grays Harbor Historical Seaport! Activities will begin over there at 2:00 pm on Saturday. They will have their new gift shop open, PAWS will be there to take picture of pets with Santa as well as many other activities.

Local artists and crafters join in the Town Hall selling their unique and hand made goods for the holidays! Come and find that perfect one of a kind gift for your loved ones, while supporting local talent!

Harbor square and the modified dolls WA host a hometown holiday bazaar with vendors, crafters, toys for tots fundraiser, Blue Boar Burgers, desserts, and Santa (1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.). Fun for the whole family. Come find that special gift for everyone on your list and take A free photo with Santa.
