Colin Cantwell is the original concept artist and modeler for all things that flew in the first Star Wars movie, A New Hope. His designs include the X-Wing, TIE Fighter, Death Star, Star Destroyer, original Millennium Falcon, Y-Wing and others.
Colin will give a free presentation featuring exclusive videos describing his interaction with George Lucas and his work on Star Wars. Also featured will be an audience choice of videos showing some of his other iconic projects including his work on 2001, A Space Odyssey and War Games, as well as his being the Hal 9000 Computer that fed Walter Cronkite the progress of the Apollo 11 moon landing as Walter was broadcasting on live TV in 1969. This will be followed by an opportunity for fans to meet Colin, ask questions and share stories.
Autographs will be on sale for $25 and include a free 8×12 print of either his original 1974 Star Wars concept art or his 1975 photos of the first Star Wars models.

A story set in a universe in which man may be the ultimate monster, “Forbidden Planet” shows at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, September 1 and 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 2 at Grays Harbor’s historic 7thStreet Theatre in downtown Hoquiam.
One of the best of the atomic age science fiction films, this 1956 classic relies on neither giant mutant monsters nor bug-eyed aliens. Instead it combines intellect and action as it considers the nature of mankind as it struggles to find its place in outer space.
Walter Pidgeon plays Dr. Morbius, creator of Robbie the Robot but also keeper of a dark secret. Anne Francis provides classic ’50s sci-fi eye candy as his daughter, Altaira, and Leslie Nielsen, more than 30 years before his “Naked Gun” comedies, is the straight and serious spaceship captain out to solve the mystery, save the day, and get the girl.
Doors open at 7 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. Saturday showing, and 1:30 p.m. for the 2 p.m. Sunday showing. The theatre is at 313 7thStreet in downtown Hoquiam.
